canvey are f^cked

Cant see him ploughing any money into Chelmsford as he would want to have the sort of control he had at Canvey which they wouldn’t give him, he would want to be manager surely, the ground surely cant be anywhere near conference and even being a large place Chelmsford’s potential is highly restricted due to the grounds positioning in the town

Don't think it's necessarily a given that he would go anywhere else, the Kings do have a strong local connection on C*nv*y after all with the caravans and nightclub. Could be he might walk away from football altogether. Of course it's all rumour and speculation at the moment

My contact on the inside at park Lane tipped me off this might happen a couple of weeks ago and whilst I am not at liberty to reveal all I have been told in confidence, don't totally rule out BFG having some involvement at Chelmsford...

Easy Sean, nothings been confirmed yet. But what will you do if he decides (as he has at Canvey) to pull the plug on the money?

You'll be back to square one, except with a bigger playing budget and contracts to fulfil. Be careful.

Smell the fear? Sean, what drugs do you people at Chelmsford ingest at Chelmsford?

If it happens, it happens. It seems amusing after all the posts criticising Heybridge for having a backer that you lot are now willing to welcome one with open arms.

Saying that, good luck to you. I hope that the investment helps the club pay off it's huge debts and put it on a much more secure footing for further investment in the team...although, I would doubt it. The supporters will be crying out for better players and success on the pitch whatever the cost.

Historically, Chelmsford was a big Non League club and we were always the poorer cousin. I accept that but today? Well, we're on equal footing at the moment and if Jeff King does invest in your club, it'll take more than money but also talent and good management to make the investment work.

For Canvey? To a degree I feel for the loyal supporters but it's been coming. 350 odd people at a Conference league game is dire and whatever the reason (high admission fees has been sugested), they are not a well supported team. I would agree with what Mr. King has said in the papers that it just isn't sustainable at that level. If we ever meet them in the next season, I would've preferred to have met them with Jeff King there....having the chance of playing them and beating them is all the more sweeter...although losing to them hurts (more than if we lose to Chelmsford).

Smell The Fear - My answer to that is, remember Rushden and Diamonds and tread very wearily.

I better sit down Gazza you have spoken some sense (almost)

Gazza the fact is Heybridge fans deny that they are being backed by anyone which is why we mock them. If they just admitted it then fine, lets move on

you said "was a big non league club" Typo Gazza you meant "Is a big non league club", you only have to look at the average crowds since we returned to MP to realise that (1250 and thats for a team with just pride to play for)

Gazza being a big club doesnt necessarily mean those closest to the league.

Stadium and support we have got but its true we are a long haul away from League Football.

But that doesnt mean we arent a "big" non league club.
