By the way, a word of warning to any Urchins planning to travel by train on Saturday, there is a replacement bus service running between Shenfield and Wickford which will mean longer journey times, One Railway have not yet annouced the new journey time but I would guess it'll be something like an extra half hour.

Went to Burnham today. Checking out the area for Saturday's game. If anyone wants to know how to get there, just follow the signs to the local Civic Amenity Site (that's dump to you and me)! Fot those of you who have never been there, I kid you not it's next door to a rubbish dump. The ground and buildings look fairly new though. I can confirm the earlier post about the pubs in the main road - at least five! If you want some "posh nosh" and you have the time try the restaurant at the marina. Very nice. Anyway, the gound seemed to have only one stand (from what I could see). Anyone been there and know otherwise? Actually seemed a bit like a newer version of Tilbury.

i've been there and can confirm that anyone looking for le "posh nosh" is in the wrong place.

By the way, on Saturday check out the old "BRFC" gate that's propped up against the wall by the entrance to the ground, showing last season's fixtures! What's that all about?

Top notch burgers in the ground and in the bar, not quite "posh nosh" but does the job!

 

Normally the Eastside stand behind the goal and the Riverside sit in the stands....

Err yes it was The Swallowtail actually. I can thoroughly recommend the Cajun Chicken and chips. I'm sure we can all expect such cuisine at the BRFC burger bar.

Even though the stand does look a little like a "baby Tesco" I can confirm that some of the Riversiders will venturing out of such familiar surroundings and mingling with the Eastside - might even wave our flags behind the goal with you: special occasion and all that . . .

The match itself is not all ticket - you simply turn up at Burnham and pay at the gate.
