More importantly, where will people be drinking pre-match on Saturday? I missed the previous trip to Burnham so I've no idea where the best public houses are to be found. Is there anywhere in particular that people recommend?

 

I shall be assembling the Earl of Pimlico's private army and heading down by train, we should arrive at a quarter to one, which pub will you lot be frequenting, and how the devil does one get there from the station?

Well...

 

None of the pubs are really local to the ground, so if you want a drink local, then I would recommend drinking up the club. They usually open up early, so shouldn't see it being a problem...

 

Failing that, there is "The Railway" which is opposite Burnham station which is not a bad pub. Then as you walk further into town you walk past such fantastic and delightful pubs as "The Oyster Smack" and "The Ship Inn".

 

All the pubs are quite small (as Burnham is only a village) but the best pubs to drink at are "The Queen Vic" or "The Anchor". However both of these are quite far into town and quite a distance from the ground!

 

You also have to taste the delights of "The Burnham Grill" if your having a few or several beers!!!

one street indeed. it's a cracking pub crawl which was ruined by the fact the last train left at 10.20. this is probably why quite a few of us are staying overnight.

 

bloody nice of kaiser to invite us all round.

Correct... All the best pubs are all situated along the high street. It goes right from the entrance into Burnham, right down to where the Marina is...

 

Absolute pubs galore, and fantastic for a pub crawl <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/top.gif" alt="" />

Well thanks for the offer Kaiser, but I'll be staying with friends in South Woodham Ferrers (a crafty ploy on my behalf as I'm staying there ostensibly to see their new place, but really because I can't be arsed to travel all the way home after the match <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/top.gif" alt="" /> ). Oh well, at least it sounds like there are plenty of boozers in Burnham to keep us entertained, I may hang about after the match, it depends on what my mates want to do, apparently there aren't many boozers in SWF.
