Just got back from Hampton

Not very impressed with Alan Devonshire's team. They may well struggle to get in the play-offs. Not a great spectacle for the supporters either, but from Margate's point of view, this was a superb result. In my opinion our best players were Protheroe, along with JK ( now wearing number 8 ), Oates and RT - of course. Bertie and LY were a bit quiet. A couple of reasonable half-chances in the first half and Danny's winning goal was superb. A through ball from Lee Protheroe found Danny just outside the box. He beat the defender then clipped the ball home from 5 yards out. It was one of only three shots we had on target. It was no more we deserved. Can we wear amber and black more often?

 

Very strange to see no CK, KR and Griffo......we have a new physio.

Interesting what the Hampton forum says...................

 

"terrible game by two poor sides on a poor surface. Neither side managed a shot on goal until Hockton's 86th minute winner which put the icing on the cake as far as Hampton were concerned. Whereas against Heybridge we showed some endeavour today we were just plain poor. Still enough games to change things but the play offs are fast disappearing".
