It's all about chances

So why are defensive mistakes just one of those things but attacking mistakes are mean the end of the world?

If a defender over the season would have blocked/intercepted/foiled 10 goalscoring shots from the opposition, but had failed to defend 40 properly and let the oppo score.Would you still think he was a good player who was playing well???Yes or No.You would say no surely.

But you seem to be immune to the fact that another of our players can score 10 goals ,but miss 5 times as many, and still think he is a good player who is playing well.

With regard to the player we are all talking about.Let me make it clear. It is untrue that i do not like him as a person or player.I accept that he is proven goalscorer at this level.I accept that he is an intelligent player who make good runs, finds space, brings other players into the game (i would certainly pick him ahead of Trevor Paul at the moment),and i always will him to play well and score, just as much as the next man.

But the facts remains that this season his contribution has been consistantly annoying and frustrating, especially with regard to finishing. The fact that he is immune to being dropped or substituted has cause unrest among certain sections of our support, and certainly amonst some of the other players.

PS..Do i think he will score against EFC???? Hell yeah.

But LS is entitled to his opinion like anyone else. I myself have criticised Bryan. My major problem wasn't the fact that he was playing but more the fact that he appeared immune to being dropped when he clearly wasn't playing well. Every other striker appeared to be dropped except him. At the moment I wouldn't drop him and I think he is earning his spot in the starting line up. I still worry about his one on one record but their are elements to his game that I feel are good. At least he is finding the net on a more regular basis.

Trevor is an example of a player who needs to play some regular football and shows the problems of not having a reserve side. He is short of confidence and a reserve side would be where one would find it. Personally I felt it was the wong decision to put him on, on Saturday. I would have gone with Nyman or Morgan.

Let's hope it all goes to plan on Saturday. I really think we need to get all 6 points over easter.

What i find strange is how this player can score 25+ goals for a team in the premier division last season and in a team that were relegated yet this season he has struggled to score half that amount in a lower league, in a better team and who are on the verge of promotion. .com

If he was in a route one team with a big centre forward knocking the chances down to him he might have got even more but that is not the way our team plays.

How many of the 25+ were penalties, though?

If Bryan was on penalties this year he'd have about 15 more goals.

Not sure tom but if he'd been on penaltys this season would town be were they are now?

Totally out of order Arky.I'm surprised at you.

Go back through my posts this year. They are full of praise when we play well.and honestly critical when we don't.

For every critical comment on players and performance,i write at least 3 or 4 coments in priase of players and performance.

Take last Saturdays game for instance.I personally praised the good performances of Rudi Hall,Steve Magona,Al-James Hannigan, and Niall Ritchie. In the preceeding couple of games,i have given glowing references on both the teams performance, and that of individuals like Matty Negus,Dave Allen,Kevin Stevens,Steve Velendia.

Maybe our differences on 'political matters',may be the real reason behind your biased outlook towards my comments? Who knows.
