Is Daish giving Kerr a run-out, which is fair enough, or is he punishing Holloway for his one mistake by dropping him?

I suppose if Daish plays Kerr in enough games before the end of the season, Daish will be able to claim that his decision to have 2 full-time goalkeepers for the season, was the right one???

No doubt Kerr will be retained for next season based upon his number of appearances?

2 goals in 2 minutes today......thats 5 goals conceded in 6 minutes of playing in recent games, that with a team full of so called defenders.

It's a 90 minute game !( unless you play Man U ).........

Hope Daish has the good grace to apologise for getting an away point, and thus upsetting a few people !!

Regards,

Teams such as Altrincham, Tamworth, Forest Green?

Yes, we bloody well should be.

These clubs are at least our equal , and you could argue that on grounds of success in the modern era, we are actually behind them in many ways. ( Don't see too many Trophy Final appearances or conference titles in our honours list)

I celebrate the fact that we are now above them, but if we really think we should wipe the floor with them home and away , we really are trying to run before we can walk.

Short memories some people, short memories.

To be honest, some people are sounding as if the'd almost rather we lost if it meant their agenda of getting Liam Daish out came to pass.

Like everyone who's posted on here so far I only heard the radio commenatry, bur this is my take: We went 2 down in 2 minutes, because Alty were using the appalling conditions to their advantage & Watkins was getting creamed. Skins replaced him, the weather calmed down & we slowly ground out superiority, so that by half time at least a point looked likely. This superiority continued for the rest of the game except for a 10-15 minute spell where the home side tried to wrestle back control. We didn't lie down & die & got a thoroughly deserved & cast iron penalty. Nothing lucky abut it at all.

I'd be interested to hear from those people who were actually at the game. I thought against Grays that at least the fight & commitnent was back & it sounds like it was there in abundance yesterday. I'm no Liam Daish apologist, but I am getting sick & tired of the the tone of some postings. Whine, whine , whine, whine, whine ....

PS. Incidentally, in terms of heritage, we are Johnny come latelys compared with Altrincham. When the original Alliance was formed they were the dominant force in non league football for years & we never beat them. I remember going up there in 1980, I believe, & being soundly thrashed by a hugely superior team.

So being full-time is a waste of time for us then.

Too early to tell, but hopefully it is a step in the right direction.

But I would imagine that when it all settles down a bit there will always be some overlap between the worst full time clubs and the best part timers. Full time does not mean you automatically wipe the floor with the oppo.

We of all people should know this as we took great delight in beating full time teams over the past few seasons.

We are less than 1 year into the experiment , so the jury is still out.

Looks like for some the experiment works ( ie Accy ) for others not so, (ie Aldershot) as it would appear they maybe taking steps to go back to a more part time set up. Who knows what the future has in store for us, but to arrogantly dismiss teams around us I am sure isn't part of way forward.

For many years top echelon non league football looked a long way off for us, and now we have it, all we do is whinge and moan, all we do, all we do, all we do is whinge and moan.

FFS can't we just enjoy it.

Exactly - I also remembering watching them wrap up the Alliance league at Stonebridge Road , I think 79/80 season. At that time they were the best of all the non league outfits and if automatic promotion to the footie league was in place then, who knows where they might be now.
