Suggestions For New Manager

Just thought Id see who everyone would like to see as new Club Manager.

P

ersonally if club could get him (which I doubt) Id like to see Gary Peters.

Did wonders for Exeter when they got relegated, got them from loosing every game to it coming down to last match of season before they went down, & if memory serves me right in about 7 games. Left because of management issues.

So who would you all like to see in position

Isn't Gary Peters now manager of Shrewsbury? Definitely a good manager though but probably tough to get considering he seems to favour jobs in the west of the country. Personally I would like to see Andy Hessenthaler take over here. If the kitty for a new manager hasnt changed from the CK days then I do not see that money would be a problem. More to do with him dropping down to the Ryman. Maybe Trotty though but we will have to wait and see how things shape up between now and the summer.

Just out of interest Scrat how did it come about that you supported Margate from sunny Devon? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Here are a few names I haven't seen mentioned yet that I'd throw into the hat:

Tony Doleby

Phil Hanford

Alan Walker

Would have to say I would be diappointed in any of those choices if they were to be the one Wellsie. I think we need to be looking for managers with recent Conference or Conference South experience (or higher). Would again emphasise Hessy is the man, I like the way his Gillingham team played, but was very impressed with Robin's set up today so will keep an open mind to see what the next few games bring.

They wouldn't necessarily be my first choice either but as CK and KR have shown over the years, the right combination of coah and manager is important. Phil Hanford from what I understand is developing a bit of a reputation as a good coach, but who might he work with at Hartsdown? I can't believe that during the close season Hessy won't be at a Football League Club as manager - the Chamnionship to Ryman Premier doesn't seem likely.

The board have a dilema if Robin does do a great job through the remainder of the season. There are not that many successful player / managers about - particulalry where the players is so important to the side. A manager needs to have a "different" relationship with his players and I think that is what could be problematic for RT.

I agree that we should be looking to someone with Conference (South or National) experience, so that begins to narrow the field a bit, particulalry if you assume part rathre than full time. Come in Andy Ford, your time is up?

Hess would be a capture for sure. A great coach and all-round good guy.

Have we got that sort of money? Could be a case of 'in our dreams'.

Andy Ford has all the right credentials.

I don't think Iain has enough experience at the right level.

Trotty is very highly spoken of by someone that knew him at a former club. If he can carry on with great results, and if he is willing to take the job, he might be the right man.

What is RT's full time job anybody?

Who is Mike Howe? I know Ernie Howe was sacked by Basingstoke not long ago. Is it him?

Would have to put Hessy top of the list though. Think he has the motivation and the coaching ability. The contacts etc you name it. Worth the money if we can stretch the purse strings to affording getting him. A big name like that would put a bit on the attendance as Joseba said before too.

However lets not rule out Trotty. If he wants the job and we keep going like yesterday and building on that then it would be hard to say no to that.
