CK, KP, RT in Friday's local paper

Chris Kinnear, Robin Trott and Keith Piper all have a say in today’s local paper.

CK summarises his career at Margate, mentioning his loyalty etc. Had three chances to move to bigger clubs. He says he only stayed last year because of the support of fans, specifically a ‘please don’t leave’ banner at Ashford.

He says he would have acquired players in the summer to take us back to the conference within 2-3 years. Won’t say who, but KP knows and you would be surprised how CK talked them into coming.

He regards himself as one of the top three managers in non-league football. He is looking forward to another management job where he can concentrate on football without all the off-field issues.

Mr Piper says the board agreed to meet after the Windsor game. He does not state that the decision was already made (to ask CK to go), although the headline above the piece does say that.

KP says CK had every player he asked for this season except James Dryden and a Cambridge midfielder. Despite this, and having one of the highest wage bills in the league, there is no sign of improvement, he says.

KP says on behalf of the directors, ‘We’ve been disappointed with the performances and the style of play and disappointed that players have been played out of position’.

He has respect and admiration for Chris and wishes him all the best.

Robin Trott is given the back page in the local. He knows what he has to do and looks forward to the challenge. He says he is used to playing in a winning team. He wants to get the players believing in themselves.

RT states he has beaten Hampton and Richmond in the past and believes we can beat them on Saturday.

He also pays respect to CK.

Disagree with you again cliff, (hope we will agree soon) the non payment of wages is a stigma with the club which has only gone as now the players are being paid. The directors have to be financially supporting the club to pay the wages, so on this basis alone I think they have the right to decide how the club is run.

Cliff, I don't think you understand what constitutes a properly convened board of directors, or how decisions are taken in this kind of organisation.

Plus, if you had met or talked to any of the directors, and insinuated that they are a bunch of puppet yes-men controlled by the evil one, you may have been put right on that one quite strongly.

I can see you are upset, but I can also see you are letting your judgment be over-ruled by your temper. That will never win you any arguments.
