Would you believe it ?

Just read the Wood report on their game with Corby ( Corby won 2-0 ) and you Town fans would not believe what happened.

"quote"

"the Referee, Mr Ramsey, succumed to a calf injury which caused a 20 minute break in play early in the second half, whilst a replacement Official was summonsed from the Press Box"...

Now would you believe that could happen ?

If my memory serves me right did that not happen in the Town game...oh...and Corby v Stamford ?

Must be something wrong with the pitch up there!

Local refs falls down injured after 20 minutes,to be replaced by an ever local-er ref.All at home against the three other top sides in the league.Coincidence/conspiracy???

I think darker forces are at work.Have you seen Corby's away record this season? 6 6 6.

Interesting to know what the scores were in those three games at the time of the ref collapsing, and what the final results were?

I seem to remember the stand-in ref ignoring a couple of very good shouts for penalites against Town players in that game. Also the park linesman conveniently missed the fact that a Corby player was two yards offside whilst recieving a pass.Three seconds later Russell Penn brought him down and was sent off.Game over!

so when did we play stamford at our ground this season. can you predict the future. is the ref gunna get injured when we play them on the 15h at our place. and the score was 2-0 and all the lino from kettering had to do was raise his flag once and they were attacking so no favours for us could have been had. the one mistake by the officials in the whole match was when kev was put one on one wih the keeper and the lino put his flag up even though it was a backpass from there number 6, the fat twat. anyway he said sorry after the game.

i also noticed the 6 6 6 record away from home so lets hope the game dont get called off away to barking or that will be spookey.

Also,If Southern and London teams have to travel to places like Corby/Stamford/Rothwell.Then why can the refs in our league travel up there as well.I believe having 'midlands' officals for most home games has given these teams an advantage.

Particularly when they call it a day half way through the match to be replaced by the "local park Ref" or the "Ref" who was in the bar before the game !!
Not that I am suggesting anything dodgy........as if.

So what will happen "out of the ordinary" at Rothwell on Saturday ?

The fact is,that when the situation arose during Corby v Stamford game,Stamford declined to have a replacement offical and the game was abondoned and resheduled.

Away teams who have travelled long distances such as Enfield Town and Boreham Wood, are under pressure to allow a local repalcement, because of the distance themselves and their fans have travelled, and the travel costs of replaying the game.

Maybe the League could employ one roaming fourth offical,to be deployed every saturday/Tuesday to the most appropriate game of the day.IE..where there is a big distance in geography bewtwen both teams,or if the game is important (top of the table clash..etc).Maybe the current refs could take it inturn to be the roaming fourth offical (in a sort of roster system).
