billericay v afc wimbledon

Recommended Posts

Why did an above average number of Chelmsford supporters travel to Wimbledon? Why did you get 2998 against us but only 502 v Hendon? It's an occasion Sean. Wimbledon are a draw, some of those people who can't attend as often as they would like will probably fancy this game. I think the answer is a little obvious.

1) Because its the only time we will get to see a 2000+ crowd all season (apart from at home )

2) Because we hadnt played a gams in Chelmsford for 8 years and obviously a lot of people wanted to go and watch the game as a one off. Remember we successfully leafleted a large area as well.

3) Wimbledon are a draw. Nah I'd go for an away win

In other words you have 500 Carltons turning up Saturday

1. We both know Wimbledon home or away will attract more people.

2. Exactly Sean, it was an occasion, people wanted to be part of it.

3. We'll see!

In other words there are far more than 500 Blues fans out there

Yes indeed - it's just that they all choose to stay at home on a Saturday afternoon for 20 out of the total 21 matches played during a season.

and presently 1800 chelmo are doing the same BC unfourtunately it is a fact of footballing lives for all of us. But as long as the real fans turn up for most games then our clubbs are winners as at least we do have good support even without the once a yearers.

Quite right Keith.

In my opinion (may be wrong), the analysis of the "Chelmo" current home support is roughly as follows:-

Hard core (never miss a game) = 500

Fair weather (won't go of it's too cold) = 300

Good results (the lads are on a decent run at the moment) = 250

Good opposition (the lads are crap, but today's visitors - WOW!) = 250

Local derby (let's put one over that mob next door) = 300

Band Wagon (something good MAY be about to happen) = 500

First game back in town (I'll be able to say "I was there") = 1,398

My colleague at work who in the past has even been on the Chelmo screen to volunteer his services for the roro erection! has said today he is fed up with the crap at Chelmo and will go somewhere else to watch footy tomorrow. So one of us will gain a supporter.
