Its amazing, for weeks and weeks a number of us so called fans have been slagging of CK, and calling for his sacking.

Spot on SSS. I would have no hesitation in giving it to Robin. I think I am right in saying that CK's contract expires in the summer he should join Ian Holloway on Gardening leave.

Joseba after today's performance I will agree with you. I cannot see it working with CK at the club. Even after my calls for positivity. My opinion, I'll take any criticism on the chin likewise.

These are just 3 that I have gone back over. There are a lot more that I could find from other people as well.

So how is it these same people are now gutted by the fact that the board has effectively done as they have asked. How are people shocked by what has happened.

I have been in the management business for a number of years now and appreciate the pressures that CK has been under. Sometimes you do things to the best of your ability, and they dont work. We all go through bad stages in our careers, but most of us stick with it, as CK has done, but what doesn't help is when you constantly get criticized.

At the end of the day what has happened has happened. We now must look forward to the remaining games of the season, and give the club our full support, because if we dont we WILL be relegated, and we will NEVER get a new ground.

There's certainly been plenty of it about.

We all think from time to time that we could do better, we could choose a more effective team, make better team selections, play in a different formation, keep this player, get shot of that player, and so on, and so on.

So really we all contribute to the general air of 'things not going right, maybe we need another manager'. Perhaps that makes it all the harder when it happens, and to one of our best-loved managers of all time. My Mum ued to say 'be careful of what you wish for, as you might actually get it'.

I would neither wish to be the Manager of a football club, nor a person that has the power to choose one. Thank goodness we have folk around prepared to do both, and take all the flack for it, else I do not think we would have football at all.

And considering the amount of old toot (and I include my opinions here) we spout out and disagree about, I cannot see how fans could effect these kinds of decisions collectively either.

I can not speak for the other 2 people you quoted but I have not expressed any feeling of being gutted by the news. I have left my thought on CK private where they shall remain.

To the original poster on this thread. I made that comment in the immediate aftermath of the Billericay game when I was gutted (not half as gutted as I am now), and could not see how we were going to stay up. I quickly retracted that comment on at least one other thread once I had a night's sleep and cleared my thoughts in the morning. I also said my confidence in CK had been restored when he brought in the new coach to help. The lack of change was I thought one of the reasons that had frustrated me but for CK to see that things just needed a little freshening up for me was brilliant and I could see this being a real bonus. Even in the aftermath of the Billericay game I said that CK should be given til mid November next season and we should see where we are then. The facts are on the forum if you want to look back. But I am gutted at what has happened today. I never did want him out in all truth and you dont find your true feelings until something has been snatched from you.
