Liam's a lot more qualified than majority of the people on this forum.

Really???

If that is the case he sure ain't showing it. An experiencd player perhaps but manager....sacked by Havant and Waterlooville, rejected by Welling United and making a 'pigs ear' of managing the 'Fleet. Yes I suppose in some perverted way that is experience.

So we are approaching the summer break (Thank God), nows the time to think of ways to make money for the club.

What about a 5/6/7 a side (using half a pitch) football tournament to be held at stonebridge road? To be held on one day?

Or a larger scale one in the form of the World Cup format where group games are held over a day and then semi's and that are held at Stonebridge Road?

With entry of say £20 a team, + a small entrance fee for supporters + refreshments from the burger van a bit of dosh could be made.

Also what about each side getting a first team player?

Thoughts and other comments would be appreciated
its a good idea for the 7 a side tournament and do u think 1st team players would want play??? how old would you have to be??

I did give some money at the start of this season when they announced another pledge but I have given more, and am happier giving it, to the sponsor a goal scheme.
I think this could maybe be pushed harder next year, the people I stand with, some of whom give an awful lot more to the club than I can afford to, where unaware of the scheme. An advert in the programme and an anouncement over the tannoy at each game could see a lot more people sign up for it next season and just £1.00 a goal per person would mount up to serious money if we can get 300 plus people to agree to it.
Everyone wants to see the Fleet score more goals and I am sure a lot of people will be happy to pay for it particularly as the payments can be spread out over the season as the goals are scored rather than having to find it all in one lump.
I owe about £60 so far - I haven't forgotten.

FB is doing her credibilty no good by defending Daish so staunchly. She works for/with the club & is expected to spin the party line, but in reality Daish's only management qualifications are as a sacked, bullying loser @ H&W and a Welling reject. At least the Welling board saw through the bull*hit and appointed a quality manager and thoroughly decent bloke by all that know him.

I doubt the club would want the pitch used during the close season for any games, considering the pounding it has taken this season.
They do not need to use the stadium now for fund raising surely, they have fleet lesiures facilities to do this.Anything can be staged there, so no excuse for not having fun raising events, or 7 a side, or any other event as far as I am concerned,if the club does not use it then they have lost the chance to publicise the club, and the facilities at the fleet leisure. The club have the ideal setting there to make money and push events, Even down to boot fares, outdoor concerts or similar, anything that will improve the footballing side of the club.I think this Will also be seen as the club being seen to be involved in the community as well.

One idea i have been thinking about to raise money for the club, would be a supporters v first team game at stonebridge road, maybe those wanting to play paying either £50 or £100 for the privalige of wearing the fleet shirt( got my money ready now),maybe having thirty or so supporters on a first come first serve basis playing one half each with rolling subs(on and off at any time). charging a small admission fee, drinks and snacks avaiable on the night.just an idea that i thought id throw into the hat.

Whatever people's misgivings about Liam, boiling his managerial career down to these somewhat puerile insults does you no credit. Indeed Liam did depart Havant with the club in a poor position, but he did secure them finishes of third and eighth in the Dr. Martens in seasons prior to that.

Ok , I'll retract the bullying loser bit.

it a fact he was sacked, there were plenty of postings on H&W forum delighting in his sacking, ; if fact were we not given a warning of his style of management.

Finally, who can deny he failed his 'trial' period at Welling. They saw first hand what he was really like, even though he returned a couple of decent results.

Is that not being rejected?

CG, I wondered how long it would take before you made some reference to your mate !

For goodness sake turn the record over. I'm sure Mr. Pennock is a fine Manager but...

Well, it was a close call, slashing my wrists or reading more of Chatham Gary's sh*te !......but, after a re count, regretfully, I am back viewing ( and I had run out of razorblades anyway !)

So CG, Fleetbabe is not allowed to voice her opinion then ? very democratic of you !!

Oh....and regretfully a yellow card to FF also for his comments to FB. Very ungentlemanly !

Hang on in there Fleetbabe....don't let the b*stards get to you !

Cheers,
