Who would you drop for saturday?

Recommended Posts

Tom Davis returns to the fold for the Histon game, but will he get a start? Crackers has had two excellent games in the midfield so I would be tempted to play 4-3-3 with Ram, Tom and Deano in the middle and Haks, Hanny and Clarkey up front. Walshey will be the unlucky one warming the bench.

O.K. Rob. I've recovered from the nightware - I dreamed that we were playing 4-3-3 on Saturday for a moment, there.

I don't know anything about football but for me, Dean 'Jacobs Cream' Cracknell did O.K. against 'Boro and scored a personal 7/10, but Tom Davis brings an added dimension to the midfield. He has to get back into it for the run-in and should start on Saturday.

Paul 'Hackers' Hakim and Lee 'Clarkey' Clarke should be told to both take a more forward role and Matt 'Matty' Hann and Ben Walshe should be told to use the width of the pitch and look to take their men on around the outside. If the XXXL shirts haven't arrived on Saturday, Jason should use his scalpel to slit the side seams of the No 11 shirt and the lovely Mrs Lippiatt should be asked to sew a couple of strips of loose elastic in place.

They should all be told that if they don't put in the work-rate for 90 minutes, their temporary memberships of the Sopwell House Sports & Leisure facility will be withdrawn.

Three points, nothing less. Not one step backwards.

I don't know anything about football, but it isn't rocket science.

The Brotherhood believes that, for a 4-3-3 formation to be sucessful, the two wide attackers (in this case, "Haks" and "Hanny") must be able to protect their full backs (Flynn and Seeby) to provide extra cover from the opponents wingers. Without this protection, the midfield three will be overrun by the Histon midfield. Therefore, we feel it would be more appropriate to play 4-4-2. Also, St Albans beat Histon 5-0 with a 4-4-2 system earlier this season.

I was allowed a brief audience with Colin Lippiatt before the game on Saturday. [Fortunately, nobody knows who I am on here!]

[We all have a picture that the manager studies videos of the opposition games, and our own last few matches between Wednesday and Saturday; programmes the latest software from NASA with a virtual reality 'pre-play' of how the opposition will cope with different strategies; agonises over the pros and cons of playing this one wide on the right, that one 'in the hole', and that it carries on until 2.59 on matchday.

Not a bit of it with Wor Colin. At away games, he buys a programme, sits in a quiet corner, and makes a few scribblings in the margin of the page with the draft team list on it, and that's it. It doesn't need to take long when you know what you are doing, I suppose.]

Anyway. I will to suggest to that Chairman of the Supporters Club chap, that he should get hold of a couple of those programmes with Colin's scribblings on, frame 'em, and sell them through the Supporters Club shop. "Doin' it for The City" etc.

Yes I was there, I thought it was a decent game which we could/should have one in the first 10 minutes.

I thought that Dean Cracknell did himself proud in both games ....however for me it would have to be Tom Davis.

A difficult call for CL, however for me Tom Davis has been player of the season and he's our `engine' in midfield.

Oh...and 4-4-2.

Mind you I know bugger all about football so these are just my oppinions.

Cracknell was excellent in the last 2 games especially when you consider how little football he has played in recent weeks but I thought that we definitely missed Davis on Saturday.

In the last 15 minutes when they were down to 10 men, we seemed to panic and just hoof the ball forward. If Davis had been in the team, I think that we would have had more control of the game and used our 'wide' players more effectively.

OK, if it was up to me I would give Walshey a rest and pack him off to Champney's for the weekend, but if he plays then Deano will have to go back to the bench. He's a good combatitive midfielder but lacks the 'killer' through ball that Davis can provide (imo).

I also disagree that Davis and Ram don't combine together well, looks like a perfect combination to me (but what do I know?)

Take 120%, JLS, and leave t'lad the intellectual property and image rights.

Now Mrs 'Jacobs Cream', as we're speaking. I've heard a rumour that someone is smuggling half-a-dozen of his Mum's famous mince pies into the changing room on training nights and match-days. One is shared by the back four - just to keep their strength up, bless 'em -, and the other five are taken on board by just one of t'lads, who is always peckish. Result: Calories burned on those days: 3500. Calories consumed: 5000. Net result: podge.

He's quick, but he would be even quicker if he cut 'em out.

Please change the lock on the cake tin, or confiscate Deano's key.

There's an American ice-hockey team where the fans throw octopus [well I suppose it might be squid] on to the ice at away games. it's the local catch back home, I gather. It might be Chicago, but who cares. And apparently, the travelling Chelsea fans throw sticks of celery - fresh not frozen, of course - onto the pitch at away games for some good reason which I can't guess at.

How about corsets at the Muff?
