If this is true, I assume that their place in the conference would remain? (Just like Redbridge did with they merged with Dagenham in 1992)

 

What ground would they then use, maybe they will meet halfway in Wickford!?

Well next season it may be a different matter with our local rivals becoming Leyton Orient (if they fail in the play-offs) or Peterborough or Bury, just looking at league 2 and the travelling is going to be a nightmare.

It`s amazing that even in the days of hi-speed internet access it takes 2 weeks for a rumour to reach the backwaters of Dagenham and Grays <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

 

There`s nothing there that hasn`t been mentioned here

I can't see Jeff King wanting to move off Canvey seeing as he owns most of it but he is also a businessman first and its not impossible that Canvey won't move to Chelmsford if the club is to progress.

 

Don't think its anything to worry about at the moment as Chelmsford's new ground isn't up to conference standard but i can see it happening in a few years if we don't get to build the new ground.

Wouldn't be the firts time it's happened - Arsenal or more recently MK Dons and Livingston.

 

However, I think that the days of this kind of thing working are no longer. Football fans in Chelmsford will alraedy have their allegiences and good enough tramsport links to get there.

 

I wonder how much of this is a bluff to get planning concessions.

 

Also, I think the Soouthend conurbation has a significantly larger population than Chelmsford, and only 7,000 or 8,000 are going to Southend so there is still a considerable market out there.

I'm sorry but if anyone believes that we are moving to Chelmsford and that Jeff will either do it or let it happen are talking absolute complete raving loopy bollo*ks!

 

Stop worrying and ignore this because it will NOT be happening.

 

Can we just ignore the thieves from Dagenham and the Gyppos from Grays who have obviously taken a break from stealing cars and mugging old ladies to stir up sh*t for a while.
