As much as this service is invaluable those that live local please try & get there in person to cheer on the boys,to give them your backing on a night where the result is so vital. Theres nothing like being there to witness events first hand & to show your true allegiance to the club. Lets not waste all these past years by being sucked down a division yet again. We must strive on Tuesday to get that result, both the players & fans alike. It would be easy to say,"oh lets stay home, watch the footy on tv and at the same time hear the commentary from the armchair". Not to mention saving a few quid. This club needs you & your £8 more than at anytime on Tuesday so get along to the ground, help the club financially & support the team in every way you can.Dont sit at home wondering what the real state of play is.Be amongst those that CAN be bothered.Lets not slacken.Lets not sit at home feeling guilty that we werent there on the night when you know full well that you could have been.Lets not think that one person less will not make a difference..IT WILL! Negatives of the recent past now go out of the window, time again to re-focus on this "important" game. Be there to be a part of the team that who, when together, can ride any storm & win almost ANY day!

Just a part of my "Target 1000" strategy Alan though the sentiments are as said..We need to turn up IN PERSON. The commentary is a major addition to the club & we are & most thankful for it as we should be but I hope its not at the expense of "turn up on the day" supporters. Tommorrow is a MUST "turn up on the day" day I feel!

This commentary,in time will be most helpful on away games for most of us but until that time comes we should not take advantage of this commentary at the expense of making the numbers swell at Hartsdown Park again.

I hope this isnt taken the wrong way by those that have tirelessly set all this up.For those that really cant make the game or who live away I am sure they are most grateful for it.As I am sure are the opposing fans.I know I would be if I had a problem getting to the game itself but we must continue to turn up on the day nevertheless & continue not only to get those numbers up but more importantly to get behind the team.I am in no way wanting to see this service discontinued, thats not my point here as the service is a major step forward I feel. As you know I come out with some negative remarks a lot of the time but that was then & tomorrow is another match.A match we MUST WIN See you all there at the ground tommorrow night!

Where the radio commentary would help is if it could somehow be piped into QEQMH (and similar places) for the patients there. It could generate interest and when they get better they could then turn up at the matches.

However, I am not an IT boffin so do not know how it could be done.

A personal perspective

My understanding is that receipt of the commentary service by anyone would be dependant upon someone at the location linking to the commentary from the Margate web-site. As far as I know we don't have a "radio transimission" capability so it's just web-based. At this stage I don't know what plans may be in place to promote the service to other organisations. My guess is that the NHS budget won't stretch to computer links to web-site commentaries in hospitals, for example.

For those that are concerned, the commentary service is an additional service that I believe will add to making Margate FC more accessible to more people - so there is promotional benefit in doing this now. I've no doubt that the club will continue to consider how else we can develop the service over the close season, including its commercial potential.

Thanks for your support.

Wellsie.

Wellsie dont get me wrong the addition of such a service is a major coup. After all I was up for it ages ago but I must admit for away games mainly. But you make a good point. It could lead to others making a first appearance at the ground having heard a commentary.

As for relaying it to hospitals. They must have computers there so maybe an approach to the head of the hospital to make available an "MFC90" (90 minutes) for any patients that are recouperating and are inrested, maybe in a small room which could be made available to them for that time to hear the commentary.Or even the hospital radio, similar to that of RK who could set aside that hour & half on a hospital channel via/through the web for people in hospital to hear through their ear phones.Even if they just put a microphone to the web commentary to go through their systems. In that case an approach to the hospital radio would have to be made.

They are all good suggestions nevertheless to be looked at and to be implemented or discarded.
