I realise he made some important errors last week but up until then we were all praising him and saying what a good aquisition he was to our squad. So he gets dropped for today to be replaced by another player in Standen who reguarly underachieves i.m.o and does nothing on a regular basis apart from a long boot upfield everytime(does anyone else ever notice that).I now call him Bill Edwards mark 2. First goal was down to him today so will Allman come back in next tuesday?

All players have off days occasionally & last weeks was one for Allman.I think he deserved another chance to shine. Doubt he would have been made errors of that nature a second game running. If he had of played and had another bad game then I could understand it. But replacing him,because of one off game, as he is usually on form,with a player playing out of position who consistently does nothing for the team is a bit bewildering I think.

Some will say I am picking on Standen again but thats not point of this post or my intention. My point is that we have a normally sound player being replaced by someone not so sound or affective. Thats my point!

I have laid off Deen lately but he hasnt impressed me still and though we all praised him for raising his games lately the truth is that most of those remarks where made on the sympathy level I would imagine.I know I backed off for those reasons.He had improved his game from previous but not to the amount that he is contributing anything worth while.One or two wont put him down no matter how he plays but our best choice is still Allman at full back. The sooner he gets back to the full backs role the better options we will have.Would then just have to hope he dosent goof again but even if he did Standen isnt the answer.I am sure Allman will continue with his usual good form of previous once he gets back in the team.

Of course he may well have had a knock in which case we should have played with someone who can play at full back,Protheroe. Standen in midfield might be a better option at times like this. I doubt it but it might.He most definately hasnt got much to offer at full back. Sorry but thats the way I see it.

I think other than Allman in for Standen I would not have done any different to CK. I was very impressed with Proths although I was asking for him to be at wing back last week I have been proved wrong and so I would favour him starting in midfield on Tuesday. Oates also did well although suprisingly wasnt tested too much by Glover. To give us more balance I would like to see Allman back on Tuesday if he is fit but not at the expense of playing Standen in midfield.

I was just being kind there GW to Standen. Offering him a place in the team anywhere is going against the grain with me.I am dumbfounded as to why others see anything in him.He is,has been & will still be our weakest link.Goodbye!

He has provided good back up at left wing back Cookie although I don't think he is good enough for first choice. I am impressed with his committment though as he always tries hard and doesn't give up. When you pay attention to him you realise that his body language is good and he always tries. I think it is only fair to give him until the summer and then see whether he can play a role next season.

No-one watches him more than I do. I am always looking for positives from his game & not the opposite.It is with that close view on him that I can comment as I do. Sorry I disagree.He is holding us back though not for one minute am I saying that his part alone on Saturday was our downfall.Others in defence probably take as much blame than he but we cant get away from the fact that Saturday it was he & his slackness that let them in for their first goal.Without that first goal we might have salvaged something.

O.k.Anthony has done similar last week but overall he has more consistency at being good whereas Dean has been the opposite.Allman has more idea about the role of full back & uses it to the full thereby we have more options in midfield & attack because of it..Unless Allman is injured he should be out there with the others. If he is injured & CK continues with Dean at full back then I am afraid the last few games are going to be tougher than tough to win.

Why make things harder for ourselves than they already are!

Would agree with you that playing him ahead of Allman if Anthony is fit and not injured does hold us back a bit. I still think in our situation at the moment Dean is fine as back up but not first choice. In the summer things will need to be reassesed but for now we have to make do with what we have available to us.
