Leyton 1-3 Billericay

Not a classic performance but you can only play against what you are n front of. The first half yielded with Elder scored injury time after the keeper (who frankly with his protestations towards the ref should have been sent off after arguing him out after the incident and then at half time) preceded to kindly pass the ball to him for an easy. Shortly after the restart Flack scored from a flick on from Macca. Later on Flack wrapped the three points with a nicely taken finish from 20 yards. Leyton got one way back with first shot on target of the game with 5 minutes to go which set up a nervy finish but the Blues clung fairly comfortably. Thought the Leyton announcer was very sporting at the end and when flacky came off very sporting <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

Good solid performance today.

Thought the young lad Swaine fitted in well, you wouldnt have guessed it was his league debut, certainly one for the future.

Hodges looks like hes getting his fitness back, and at 28 was the oldest member of the squad today. Future looks good thats for sure

Pretty comfortable for us in the end with a much improved effort in the second half. Leyton were quite bad to be honest but all you can do is beat what is in front of you.

Goals from Nathan after Joe nicked the ball off the keepers foot and a couple for Joe himself in the second half. An undeserved consolation for them.

Positives: Good league debut from Rob Swaine and a much better all round effort in the second half.

Negatives: I can only presume Ricky had his boots on the wrong feet.

Millard

Macca Swaine Dormer (Brown) Kerrigan

Henty Game (Simmons) Hunter Hodges

Elder Flack (Poole)

snu: Brightley, D Collins

First half pretty dire but Hassell livened things up by giving us a goal! Second half alot better, but as Gazza says, we never needed to get out of second gear. Swaine looked competent, but it was a fairly easy debut for him. Disappointed to conceed a late goal as a in a league like this goal difference could be crucial. A win Tuesday could see the play-off gap reduced to 4 points, although I remember saying that before!

Thought we were very poor first half, the game looked to be drifting away into end of season nothing-ness. But elder's goal(the most bizarre goal i have ever seen)seemed to rejuvenate the team and we were much better 2nd half. Something similar tuesday will be required to gained maximum points (nothing less can be acceptable now!)

an unspectacular win really. Sounds stupid but apart from the goals nothing else happened in this game which was probably not helped by the ref who was not great. What was going on when he started to play catch with their keeper?

Good solid win, well done.
