Just been informed that Brentwood beat Burnham 2 - 1......shocker.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

and where will the final be played....?

 

Its supposed to be at the grays ground but that all seems to have gone quiet....I hope it is as the rec is a great pitch....

 

if not where will it be played....has to be neutral and that's 'certain' so we can't grab it....and wouldn't be fair on brentwood either...

 

tilbury is by far and away the best surface after ours and even tho' we 'hate' the place it is still a good viewing platform with decent burgers.......BR is a great little ground but I suppose can't have two finals there.......

 

still....I suppose some chappie who sends out mail shots by the dozen to the FA should have covered the problem....

I sincerely hope not....a fckn mile hike from the club to the ground...no food inside the ground and a pitch like morecambe beach...

 

how the fck can we play a senior final at that ground...(no disrespect meant at all)...but last time we went we had to all huddle under one stand behind the goal...no toilets working in the ground....no food...no cuppas...no wheelchair access...blah blah blah.....

 

have changes been made...?

 

is the pitch now playable and not a quagmire....? is there a refreshment bar inside the ground....are there male and female toilets inside the ground...(we shall be bringing at least 300....

we need to know these things...

 

surely the final must go to tilbury....

 

makes so much more sense...

Brentwood won 2-1 on an absolutely awful pitch - large bare patches and bumpy, not helped by a verty strong downfield wind and driving rain in the second half.

 

Sunny in the first half, and very little action, until two mins from half time when Tim O'Reilly tried a shot from the edge of the penalty area. We were right behind the goal and it looked like it was going into the side netting, and the keeper thought so as well as he let it go, and it swerved into the net.

 

This was the only real chance in a poor first half. Second half Burnham seemed in control until the rain started. Then nine mins from time Joe Kissoon popped up to touch home from a corner, and with two mins left Brentwood were awarded a free kick from about 35 yards out. Mackin took the kick, in heavy rain and strong wind, and the ball hit the underside of the bar, rebounded onto Rob Small and then into the net. With seven mins added on for stoppages, Brentwood for the most part kept the ball locked up at the corner flag, with only a half chance falling to Steve Portway at the other end.

 

Crowd was about 70 with quite a few from Hornchurch. Brentwood were a bit fortunate to have the rain in their favour, but Burnham Ramblers looked just a shadow of the team they were earlier in the season.

it won't be at dagenham so little point in speculating...

 

in terms of facilities then if it has to be an esl club we are stuck with oakside and tilbury...

 

they are the only two clubs that can accomodate us...(unless WA have spent some serious time and money in the past 6 months)...

i would prefer oakside out of the two but tilbury as you say isn't the worse for spectator facilities

in all fairness i think it has to be a ground above esl standard to accomodate all the urchin p1ss heads

tilbury ain't a bad bar but could it accomodate 150-200 urchins on the p1ss

what about romfords ground,there are 2-3 different bars and a big size

would still rather it be at grays or nam though

Would Brentwood not agree to play it at Bridge Avenue?

 

It'd be the place that would attract the most fans and from what I recall the facilities are fantastic.

 

I know it may be a little one sided support wise, but it does tick all the other boxes!!!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
