Full timers

Recommended Posts

Am I right in thinking that when Jay went off, the whole team on the field were full time players? I struggled today to believe they have played together recently. As for commitment and passion, it was sporadic. Bradley added a bit of spark when he came on and competed but what a woeful goal attempt! Slatter seems to be everywhere and nowhere at times. That can't be doing his game much good. Sadly, I am left with the opinion that even if Rawle had played on the team would still have played as they did. Moore is too light weight at this level; he should become better with age with a bit more skill and build to hold off bullying centrebacks, but he is losing it out there. It's going to be a poor finish to the season.

Sorry, but I can't agree. While Fuller's general play is probably just about satisfactory, his dead ball efforts (particularly corners) are very poor. And this was the case at Stevenage last Saturday too. Hurry back Jacko!

As kmj said, Fuller was competent enough, but he often ran into brick walls when presented with good opportunities, and delivered little in terms of cutting edge. Like a lot of the squad at present, he's just about good enough to hold down a squad place, but not good enough to stand out or change a game.

But then that goes for 80% of the squad on show in the last four weeks.

So far (I haven't read all the posts) I'm suprised no one (noone/no-one) has mentioned Ashley fuller, I thought he had a brilliant game today.

I have mentioned him in another thread along with slatter. I thought the lad worked his butt off

What about Luke Moore?

Trust me, no-one's been quite as bad against us this season as Tamworth were at Stonebridge Road. Nonetheless, it was worrying yesterday just how easy it was for Aldershot, who didn't have to perform to too high a standard to win comfortably, and scored with almost every effort they had on goal. In a way, that's worse than being comprehensively beaten and being totally outclassed by the opposition.

I agree. Aldershot were better than Tamworth, Halifax, Southport and Canvey. They had to be -they beat us convincingly. Some of our supporters in their justifiable annoyance at the way our depleted team is playing, have very short memories.
