Our Thoughts Are With You

Shortly after the match today with Staines, June Cousins suffered from a heart attack whilst on the supporters coach. It is with deep regret that I pass on the news that June sadly passed away in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Our thoughts at this time are with the Cousins family for their sad loss.

Good evening. We were all shocked to hear the sad news of the death of June Cousins as she was boarding the coach to leave this afternoon's game. We all came out to enjoy a day's football: we support our respective teams, we cheer our successes, and yes we revel a little in the errors of the opponents, and of course we all berate the ref from time to time. And at the final whistle, we think we're sad when we lose, and we think we're on top of the world when we win. And then something like this happens, and we realise how little all those highs and lows really matter. It's a cliché to say "at least she left us while doing something she enjoyed", but it is a shred of comfort to cling to. As far as I know, no-one at Staines Town knew June Cousins, but her passing has affected us all, and we offer our sincere sympathies to June Cousins' family and friends.
