I thought they played well tonight. One of their goals was so offside it was unture, and the ref. He was so unfit he could hardly run!! He was bloody joke! Not fit to ref an under 10's game! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

Southport went down with 45 points, Altrincham went down with 46 points - both finished 2nd from bottom at the times in question.

 

Although unlikely, the spectre of relegation hasn't been completely vanquished yet.

It had no reflection on the result (he could have had his best ever game and it would have been 3-1) but Tomlinson is a well-known card-happy over-officious prat. I think he was top two or three in the cards department in the Conference last season.

Was McKimm's red deserved? From where I was standing he just seemed to stop and the bloke fall over him, but I admit I got a pretty poor view of the incident.

Thought we did well today, up until their second goal went in...

I think we defended well for the first half and after going 1 up. They scored a decent freekick, but our defence fell asleep and let them pass it round us for their second goal. Their third I thought we had a strong case for offside...

 

Still scoreline maybe flattered them, but we fell apart and let them score the last 2 goals. Not forgetting that they cleared of their line twice

Mr Tomlinson's performance should at least get him noticed and allow him to progress alongside another of the Conference's finest refereeing exports:

We all know that you are a betting man F.F. how much would you like to bet that nobody with 45 points goes down this season.

We were safe in January.

With the clubs at the bottom all winning lately - which is more than can be said for the crap served up by Daish, I wouldn't be so confident until it's mathematically certain.

It'd be interesting to know whether that is a precise fact or an educated guess though - after all, other clubs' budgets are unlikely to be openly known either.
