Bravo programme - Update

OK i know a lot of you aren't too happy about this but the project does appear to be going ahead.

The guy from the production company has called me today with some updated information.

Firstly he would like a few of us to go down to the Polish Club on Tuesday night (where the Hames guy will be taking training for the first time). He wants to get some fan interaction with Hames (both positive and negative) and apparently we will get the chance to ask him questions and try and catch him out on certain things. He has been given a file including all things Slough Town and is researching as we speak.

As I said previously I know there are many mixed feelings about this but I have been asked to help out with this and as a dedicated follower of our club that is what I will do. I hope that some others of you will in turn help me out by turning up on Tuesday, at the currently scheduled ressie match on Wednesday and at the game on Saturday.

Richard Welsh has also asked me to think of other ideas to get the fans involved in the programme and if anyone has any suggestions then please feel free to voice them. I still have reservations about the project and have voiced these to Richard but now the club appear to have OK'd the project I am willing to get 100% on board and make it as much of a success as possible.

I hope to be at Staines on Saturday, although work commitments could prevent this, so if you have any queries/ideas/comments then please speak to me then as well.

Thank you guys.

To add to this, I did actually email the guy yesterday to ask him who would actually be picking the team Hames or Eddie. Below is how reply:

"We're currently talking with Eddie, Mark and Roy about how we can best work this. There won't be any massive changes to the team (there isn't a huge squad) and this will all be done to give Slough the best chance of winning on the day."

Its a hard one to call, but we must all ensure that the club does not become that circus by attending and ensuring we put us into the lime light in the correct manner...

we need our supporters to be real and acting together...

Its quite correct to think our players will give their normal 100 % performance...for the one match..the team will still be the same following eddie and marks plans don't you worry...

up the rebels..

the team is the important thing here...so lets support it as we always do...up the rebels.

Sorry, Chris, I disagree. There comes a point when situations get so farcical that you have to take a stand. I assume the ONLY reason we're doing this is because Bravo are giving us a few quid? Would we do it for any other reason? I very much doubt it. How much have we "sold" the club for? Are we likely to be told?

Great. Reduced to appearing on minority TV channels for a few quid. We can't pretend to be a professionally run club with aims of progressing then agree to nonsense like this. If people disagree then I have no problem with that. I shall be voting with my feet however.

The problem is Chris, Bravo are running the show, and so for one game at least is isn't 'our' team.

I am not saying that I necessarily agree with the points made by Ian and Staines Rebel amongst others, but I can certainly understand their point of view.

To point the finger at them and suggest they are not supporters is pious and I think you should be more diplomatic over a sensitive subject that clearly is bothering some supporters

That's the whole point though, isn't it? For that game it won't be my/our club. It'll be the play thing of Bravo television. I'm surprised Eddie has agreed although I suspect it's a case of money talks.

Sometimes, sticking to your principles is important and I'm not going to support the club on this occasion when I don't agree with what they're doing JUST because it's my club. After a while they start to take advantage of blind loyalty. That's not intended to be a criticism, by the way.

Graham ..not our team ?, do you really think that Slough will be different team out there that day ! we have a small squad and I have been re assured that Eddie and Mark will there too ! with our small squad , the team with injuries almost picks its self..and plays the way it would have played under Eddie and marks..idea's ?

I am not happy about this too...and have said my peice too, Radders has completely changed his mind on the subject , he was always for this idea until he now has seen it in a different light since it was published on here...and now it is tearing himself apart , thinking has he done the right thing...but I too don't want it to go ahead but if it has too because the club have now agreed to it, then lets get it over and done as quick as possible , so we can all get back to supporting Slough...including those who are going to stay away on this fixture. ( which I personally think is not the best way to make a stand on this ) as The team your are supporting is going to be the same one that you will be supporting tomorrow at Staines...

what is the differance..... ?

Still, they would look a bit silly if they found out afterwards they could not broadcast without the permission, wouldn't they? Especially if a local resident informed the Crown Estate Warden, and he kicked them out before kick off.
