Billericay 0-1 Barkingside

Recommended Posts

Not a classic... notebook practically empty for the first half, second half not much better until they scored then got a few more attacks.

Bits and pieces team, Joe Flack only 1 likely to start on Saturday, few fringe players and the rest under 18s. Thought the youngsters all did well, for some of them it was their first start in a mans game (as opposed to youth footie). Good to see Forbes back for first time in a month.

Our best chance of the first half fell to Tom Poole who broke clear of the defence but seemed to run out of puff a bit and the keeper smothered. Second half they've taken the lead with a well taken goal, looked like bit of a lack of communication between Dale and the left back, but good finish to put ball over Dale's head. We've had a couple of corners, Rob Swaine first saw header pushed over then put one against the bar. Slightly disappointed that some of the more senior players didn't make more of their opportunity to impress, at the very least there are places in the cup final squad up for grabs and beyond that next season...

Brightley

Vincent Swaine A.Collins Mason

Forbes Simmons D.Collins Axcell

Flack Poole

Subs

Prout for A.Collins (Injury 1st half)

Howard for Vincent (half time)

Aylett for Flack (2nd half)

Aylett and Prout were in the under 16s last year...

The game kicked off after Barkingside scored, with the Blues putting the visitors under pressure. MacCartney pulled off two great saves to deny Howard and Swaine from scoring.

Shame because it would've been nice to meet Canvey and the Trophy is certainly worth winning.

Big shame. A trip to Barkingside doesn't seem very appealing!!

We'll pass the brasso on to you lot, you'll need it for that nice little brass sign that says: "Welcome to the Chelmsford Sports and Athletics Centre". It'll need cleaning you know!

Keep it Ryan - the Athletics Club will be maintaining that sign.
OUR responsibility is the large "Chelmsford City FC" sign on the clubhouse, which will just require a lick of claret paint every now and again.

Better cancel that Brasso order. Another trophy slips through your hands

So come on sean, what chance does Chelmsford stand of winning this season? Think football lad, 22 man all in tag wrestling don't count.

sean, you appear to have fogotten that you were promised a new ground for quite a few seasons back...

So, if you work it out sean, you're going to have to wait.

By the way, a bit brave of you to post on here without your mate Bub coming up with the pithy weight jokes?

"Yeah but it don't say "& Football Club"..." So ??? It doesnt say New Lodge, or Park Drive or any other ground we could of shared. The name of the ground doesnt matter. I couldnt care if it said "Gazza and his shark bait" on the stadium for all its worth. It is in Chelmsford, for the people of Chelmsford.

Chelmsford Chav attack...This is becoming a infestation. Ryan, is there any treatment for this?

Bloody hell, they're more interested in us than we are in them...

Next season's Supporters Association forms will be sent out during the summer. You fella's wanna support a football club and not an Athletics Club, feel free to ask for one.
