thats why I did not sing his name on Saturday.

 

As it goes there is not much to choose between either of them , what you gain on the swings you lose on the roundabouts.

But if I was picking the team, I would go for Gooding.

I did not sing his name. He wouldnt have changed the outcome of the game, and i fully believe in trying to support the players out there. Constant abuse does nothing, and singing protheroe in "protest" also will do bugger all...

As full timers, players cannot shirk their responsibilites to the club & those that ultimately pay their wages- the fans. He should ask to be rested. I'm sure Liam would drop Scott if he could - but we are so short of right backsI don't think he will.

Quite right. I personally, all things considered, would select Protheroe, but belittling on the terraces of Gooding is just as bad as unfairly expecting Protheroe to instantly make a huge difference if he were to return to the team, and in turn simply putting too much pressure on him to perform too.
