Last saturday it was Warren Ryan embarrassing our midfield ,thius coming saturday i should think it will be Abbots turn to turn in a fine performance against our threadbare and uncombatative midfield and show us what we are missing.

 

I always rated Abbot despite his 120 minutes offirst team football, and boy, could we not do with his type of midfield up and down the pitch energy in our team now.

Not in Ryans class but a god Ryman player i bet !!

Abbott looks like he's been playing at right midfield for Heybridge. Probably their weakest midfielder but they do have the little matter of Glover, Gillespie who is back after some games out & Hill who was at Dagenham a couple of years ago. Jolly will have to be watched up front. Along with Revell he is one of the best strikers in this league. Same as Billericay they have a young enthusiastic manager and this rubs off on the players.

Dont we have an enthusiastic manager then? He's not that much older surely. He's not near to picking up his pension yet. I know what you are saying however GW.

We too have an enthusiastic EXPERIENCED manager with a good record and that too should be rubbing off on OUR players.

Re Abbott I noticed he spent most of the game warming the bench on Saturday. If Heybridge don't go up I wouldnt mind betting that Abbott could be part of a clearout. Wouldnt mind seeing him return in the summer. Sure that would please MM.

Abbot simply struck me as a hardworking end to end type of midfield player, with plenty of energy, a half decent shot ,a bit tough and could tackle.

 

Not brilliant at anything, but fairly good at most things .

A sort of conference/Ryman version of Bryan Robson in his heyday
