He always semed to be to be completely committed to the club.

I am absolutely gutted he has gone, I LOVED that lad, he was great to watch, skilful, and was one of the only players we had that could actually hold the ball up.

I was hoping against hope it was a rumour and nothing else, but now with official confirmation that's it I suppose.

It is getting harder and harder this season to maintain any sense of optimism, or understand what it actually is that I am trying to support.

I'm glad that my last memory of him in a Margate shirt is that fantastic goal last home game.

Good luck to him, and I hope he goes on and prospers, wherever he may go.

I am also disappointed he has left at this stage in the season. He was important in our good run of form and we missed him on Saturday. No point getting rid if you don't have a better replacement and in our situation we were never going to be able to put in a replacement immediately. A strange decision. Lee is class but probably needs a little while to adapt to midfield again and get used to the team. Can't fault Ian for sticking with us when out of favour and when he was brought back in he performed well in midfield.

If all the players had the commitment and loyalty to the club that Ian has shown this season then we would be in a lot better position than now.

I do not know if it was his decission to go or not but if it was I can not blame him.

Thankyou very much Ian for what you gave to the club this season and good luck for the rest of your career.

Blimey MF-your post almost boundaries on the negative which would be a first for your good self.

I think its been a long haul for all of us, and as long as we stay in this league, hopefully the likes of you and i can recover our positive inclinations for the new season.

One never knows but i would anticipate that Ian does not feature in CK plans for next season(good signings promised but i will not hold my breath),and Respect to CK he is probably giving Ian an early chance to secure a new club (Ramsgate anyone?).

It is surely a risk though as with 7 games left, all we need on saturday is Hockton to get injured and BB sent off(both very very possible) then apart from Yiga we do not have a striker and loan window is i think closed on friday !!

Then we get relegated

Brilliant move that one then

I agree.Good luck to him in the future.Whilst his ball control was lacking at times he did do us proud.Scored some vital goals, stuck with us even when some recent signings had been made & was put relegated to the subs bench. Was tireless in his running and generally put himself about.A good player though lacking possibly the class we need for next season. However,I too am indebted to him for showing his loyalty and perserverence during his time with us.Good luck Ian,you did well.

Having said all that I do think the replacement in Protheroe should give us more room for improvement as he does have that "extra" bit of class. The class we need to stay up this season. If we can avoid relegation(as I am sure we will)and we can get him to sign for next season also then we already have 4 players(classier & more skillful ready for next seasons assault on the title).I am not saying that some others arent good enough & no disrespect to them, but I just would like to see a few more in the class of Brayley,Hockton,Trott & Protheroe join us for next year.CK says he may have those players ready to commit in the summer,so the future looks bright for next season. We just have to get some points soon to ease the pressure.

Three points at home this Saturday will be a good start.
