MM appreciate what you say about the wide players doubling up on the defensive and also overlapping on the attack. This is why we must play 4-4-2/ ok 4-5-1 but would be careful not to invite too much pressure. Proths and Oates on the right and Allman and Standen on the left.

Allman was at fault with goal 2 by losing possesion in midfield.

Agree with'Teabarmark' that we would have been 4 - 0 down at half-time if Bechet hadn't been playing.

Warren Ryan was certainly 'Man of the Match' and I was certainly impressed with their No.9 - Nathan Elder - he looked and was everything you would expect a 'centre forward' to be.

here we go for those of u with negative thoughts wake up and smell the coffee. did the management say that this season would be a season of getting a team together to challenge for promotion in season 2006/2007 oh sorry to state the fact.but no i only hope that with 1 game to go we will be in a position for C K to pick 1 of the crowd and say IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO BETTER HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO PROVE IT and make ypu pick the team for next season and beyond so please put your name forward so MFC can see the shortlist. as 4 today yea disapointed but hea nobody forces u to support margate we do it 4 the good times amd i feel they will come next season

I am a CK fan but why on earth will he not change things that are clearly not working. In our last two league games the opposing managers have made subs that have changed the game for them. Is he to stubbon for his own good. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

philDMinime,St Peter,All I am saying is this.Did you think that this season we were going to win anything,what we the fans have had to put up with over the past few years is uncertainty of our clubs future,we have had to go with the players that other clubs did not want,WE as fans of the GATE should STOP slagging off the players,CK,and the rest of the board,it is our HUMBLE job to get behind them all,give them all the support we can and STOP being the best BOSS,I am not having a go at anyone but the people that come on here shouting the odds that they could do better,IMO know JACK Sh#t.

I didn't think we would win anything, but I thought that nearer the end of the season we would see a marked improvement which would give me hope for promotion next season. I normally back CK on his decisions but the formation seems not to be working and if its not working then mend it

CK knows his players much better than any of us,you my friend might put a player in a formation he is not happy with,it is all too easy to pay your money to see a game and then be the best boss in the world,at the moment the gate have a lot of would be CKs,all of which could hardly do better,but they shout alot.

The tendency to let the manager know where he is going wrong is not limited to the Margate forum as I am sure you know Tony.

 

The comments on this thread have been generally quite mild compared even with previous threads on here. There has been no personal abuse, and views have generally been in favour of different tactics rather than criticism of individuals.

 

SSS's views are well known and he is entitled to express them. Most of us don't agree but still have something to say. A bit of chuntering after shipping 4 goals on two successive Saturdays is only to be expected.

 

I belong to the 4-4-2 society, I don't mind admitting. But I still get behind the management and team on matchdays. Also to be fair, some of our players are here specifically to suit the system we play.

 

And of course many 4-4-2 teams will get relegated this season, while a fair few wingback sides are very successful (including Margate in the past).

 

So let's carry on supporting the Gate and feel free to express our opinions on here. A healthy message board is vastly preferable to the total apathy surrounding some clubs at our level.

It is rare to have such a high level of agreement as to 'what went wrong' after a defeat, and to see opposition supporters agreeing with us does lend some weight to the argument.

here's another thought from the game.C K finally makes a sub,there's hope from the margate supporters that this will actually be a tactical change to take the game to them.all wrong as usual!!puts standen as right wing back,moves oates to centre back and keeps the same formation.

Bit wary about Heybridge on Saturday, they have lost two out of three but by all accounts they had the better against AFC and were unlucky vs Fisher. We have gotta play well or the relegation scene is beckoning.
