A tail of poor officiating from an offical and heavy pitch conditions defined this game. Town went on the attack with two early corners. Niall Ritchie and keeper Hudson went up for ball and the keeper failed to hold and the ball went in the net Town fans celebrated the ref pointed for a goal kick. Hmm! 50;50 ball to me. Cousins was saving well at the other end and Sittingbourne had a shot over the bar. Time after time Town players were running round defenders with the ball and the linesman flagged for offside. You must be joking? I wish I was, it was xasperating. Dean Nyman shot wide, David Allen tackling back with pure quality. Kevin Stephens in front of goal with ball passes back neatly. What were you thinking Kevin? Williams on for Hudson. Paul Campbell and David Allen again tackling back well. Bryan Hammatt on Right wing does an Overhead scissor kick for Kevin Stephens to head well forcing a great palm over the bar from Williams. Bryan Hammatt hits the bar. Offside again from this clueless official. The rain is beginning to drizzle making the already greasy surface slippery. Some lovely football again from town but the high balls seemed a strange approach.

Second half Niall Ritchie and Steve Velandia were linking up well on the right wing with some lovely play. Niall Ritchie switched to the left wing. On 53 minutes Niall Ritchie hits a rocket of a volley and it screamed into the net Town fans erupted. YES! Niall Ritchie and Steve Velandia did a double act down the right wing and crossed to Lee Smith who slid the ball just past the post. On 63 minutes Sittingbourne charged down the left wing to the by-line and crossed for a striker to net it. Damn. Al J Hannigan was determined to match the tackling back quality of David Allen and did so with great skill. Matthew Negus collected a ball well and charged down the left wing to shoot wide. Lee Smith crossed a corner for a Paul Campbell header to just dip over the bar. Bryan Hammatt kept going down the left wing and crossing with not quite enough accuracy. Steve Velandia and Dean Nyman off Johnny Morgan and Steve Magona on. The heavy pitch played its part today but this was definitely 2 points lost.

Niall Ritchie was my MoM, not for the first time either, a real quality player, a definate must for next season.

What a missed chance today was looking at the other results, but hey 1 more match out of the way, how important is the Stamford game next week?

Surely we have dropped enough points at home now a win is definatly needed.

ETFC 'powered' their way into a play off position yesterday! Seemed to get lost when going forward and didn't really know what to do when we had the ball in midfield. Why the continual high balls? There's only Lee who can get up to them!

I think the team of officials were the best we had all day!
