I'm not defending Liam neither am I defending the clubs decision to sack Proths but I'm saying it is very strange that Gary has made such a dramatic u-turn in such a short space of time.

I know I post crap, that’s what this place is all about but when I care passionately about something I don't drop it over the course of a few months.

As for the quote I got the important bit, I was disagreeing with what you said about me, not what you said about yourself. Why does it matter any way?

Harry, I've just read my historic postings relating to Brians message, blimy your quotes of me were a bit selective and carefully edited, wern't they.

I said that i thought Liam was the best talent spotter in 25 years, you carefully omitted m next line that the jury was out on Liam as manager.

Ss far as i am concerned the jury has reached it's verdict.

Err what?

Yeah fair enough you did say the jury is still out but a lot of what you said in that thread is very contradictory of what you're saying now. Now you seem to be a lot more critical of the club and the directors, your were defending them to the hilt on the "Chairmans Message" thread.

Just to elaborate for those who don't have access to this, Brian claims that it was Lee's appeal against the decision that forced him to reveal the details of the incident. As the news article on the official site has already told us, Lee has admitted that he did it.

Whether or not it was necessary for precise details of Lee's alleged offence to be disclosed before the appeal process is completed is another matter. But since none of us know what exactly was said to this Stevenage player, it would be foolish for anyone to say that Protheroe should be reinstated or whatever, or to speculate whether or not it really did justify a charge of gross misconduct.

no-one apart from Lee & his pal know what was said. The only way the board heard was because someone told them. In my profession, that information is heresay, and therefore inadmissable in evidence. To me Lee's honesty has proved his undoing. If Lee has a good legal team, it could get interesting.

In light of this article, the club's decision to reveal that Proths had been sacked for gross misconduct, and the specific reason for this, is made to seem all the more confusing. After all, with the appeal process still ongoing and in a position of stasis at the moment, nothing has been properly resolved yet, and Brian's claim in Thursday's Reporter that Proths' decision to appeal forced the club to reveal details of the affair doesn't seem to make perfect sense.

I see they made Provs skipper yeasterday, and had another storming game.

What's that supposed to suggest, though? That a storming performance at Margate's level must mean we need him back immediately? Tostao was good for Dartford but that doesn't mean we need him back...

Not at all, Bernard. But when Provs was on song, few were more vocal, passionate and committed. And I used to LOVE his spats with Gledhill!!
