Season Tickets

The club are going to have to come up with something to attract new supporters. Charlton have just announced reductions in all season ticket prices for next season (including £99 for U11s - not bad for 19 Premiership games). Lets see something innovative from the club.

This might seem like a slightly crazy idea but how about free season tickets for all U11's (Primary School kids) when accompanied by a paying adult?

The parent's, who otherwise are not likely to attend games will be forced to attend games as a result of their kids "nagging them to death" to take them to the games!

Its a spin off of the "Kids Go Free/Quid" scheme but part of the appeal of it is the kids get their own personalised season ticket with photoID's in.

On the theme of "entertainment", my boss, who's a Fulham supporter told me they give out "Red Cards" to the crowds (usually with some firm advertising on them) but the idea being that the fans wave them at the ref for controversial decisions during the game. 3 or 400 fleet fans waving red cards at the ref might help a little bit with the atmosphere at games.

Charlton have just announced losses of 5 million by the way as a result of their transfer activities this year. Probably goes some way to explaining why they are looking for more fans.

I bet the ref would be well pleased to see that, as if his job isn't difficult enough already.

The thing I find most worrying is that its cheaper for 16 and 17 year old kids to watch Charlton than it is the Fleet.

yes we can target the under 11's as we do now and they will come as long as dad takes them , but its the teenagers we need to get down to Stonebridge Road.

I know the Board have said that loads of unaccompanied teenagers can bring more trouble than its worth, but unless we reach out to them we will consistantly lose their interest and any good will built up by giving them free tickets when they were younger will be lost.

As a matter of interest they are also supplying free coaches for their FA cup QF trip to Middlesborough.

Up the Fleet - we must do something - Can I suggest we trim the playing budget by 1 and use the money to speculate on attracting more to our games.
