In the evening i am inclined to watch the BBC local Kent and sussex news, I have noticed that G&NFC are never mentioned on there , yet london side are , so i have dropped a line to the BBC asking why? unlikely to get a response let alone result but it made me feel better.If you feel the same please feel free to complain also

Dear sir/Madam

My Comment concerns BBC News south east today, and it's sports coverage, in the main its the soccer coverage that concerns me most. The programme correctly so cover's Brighton and Hove Albion also Gillingham football club. but it also covers Charlton Athletic in my eyes a South London club. The programme never covers Gravesend & Northfleet FC. A full time soccer club within the Kent area.But even so is never covered by the BBC local News.The club needs all the support they can muster to keep it's head above water, also to attract new supporters and players. The club has a number of ideas to try and push itself forward, but if ignored by the Kent & Sussex local News broadcast then who will cover them ?? yet the programme publicises London sides .Last Night Gravesend and Northfleet played Margate in the semi Final of the Kent senior cup. Was this mentioned on the local News unless i missed it to my knowledge, the answer was no, even though there were two well know Kent sides involved. I am only a paying supporter of Gravesend & Northfleet. But i would like to see the club achieve things. and any publicity it can receive even if just fixture anoucements & results would be something. For a professional soccer club in kent not to be recognised by it's own local television company is very poor i feel.

I should imagine this is the case for most people living in Gravesham. Our location virtually on the border between the London and South-East reception areas no doubt doesn't help our case.

I get my television via sky.sky broadcast BBC SOUTH EAST in this region.push your select button when on the BBC channel and it will state that its BBC south east

As you are all aware as i am based in wales this is the option I use and for those who are interested i am refereeing a live game on the 1st April Welsh Cup Semi Final Llanelli v Bangor @17.25 on S4C not sure what number that is back in England SKY 104 here in Wales...Once you watch this you will think you are blesssed with the standard you are watching at the moemnt BTW Llanelli are full time and are managed by Peter Nicholas and Bangor are managed by Clayton Blackmore who at 42 is still playing

When is President Tone going to refer the license fee scam to the Monopolies Commission ?...and why is there only one Monopolies Commission ? ...and why do I keep landing on the Go To Jail square ?

Yes I did CG. I also spoke to the Beeb. Their excuse for us being lumbered with BBC London is because most of the homes in Gravesham have their aerials positioned towards the Crystal Palace transmitter instead of Bluebell Hill because the reception is better.

 

The only hope is for cable customers to lobby Telewest to provide BBC South East News.

The point i am trying to make is that most likely 60% have sky which transmits South East today.so saying we live in Gravesend bad transmission etc is just a excuse by the beeb,Telewest transmit meridian for kent i have no idea if G&NF FC get put out on there ??? but if not why not ?

Meridian were using my footage at the start of the season (Club Cameraman), but then somebody higher up in the ITV network apparently put a block on it.
Maybe Sky have the rights to all Conference & F.A. Trophy matches being shown on TV and weren't happy about Meridian showing the goals ?
