How about buying a small space on the back of the Gazette on Fridays to show the next match? Thick black print showing MARGATE v opposition. This is the case with most clubs and their local papers.

everyone who reads the back page normally does so for the sport so odds on they will turn the page to see when the next match is.

My thoughts is that the local rags should do more for the clubs for free, as both the gate and the rams are community based.

not sure what the answer is though, I like Cookies idea of giving out leaflets, but instead of Margate why not Westwood Cross, would we need permission??. Just my ramblings

I would have hoped that these posts above would have been put under the "target 1000" thread. Still,seeing as though it IS on this new thread there is another way I think would help. I have always thought that a car going slowly round the town on the morning of the match(sat kick-offs)showing some kind of advertisement of the game & the club made out onto a board that fits onto the side of the car with the additional adapted car megaphone attached(similar to those used in carnivals)would be a way to do much more and get across to more people without having to put in too many miles trudging around the town on foot or sitting around giving out leaflets. If anyone knows where I can obtain one of these type megaphones then could they please inform me. I could fix it up on my car,get the boards made hopefully and have someone alongside of me in the cockpit/cab giving out details of the game and of the club and its other links,i.e. GGLottery etc,future fixtures through the microphone. Added to that, as the car would be crawling round the roads, doing this handout of leaflets too should it be safe to do so of course & providing nothing obstructs the flow of traffic. If leaflets arent possible to be handed out then the announcements on the megaphone whilst touring around should be a massive help alone.This is the main thing I would like to get off the ground if possible and if I have the equipment mentioned above.Any help with this would be greatly accepted. Anyone got one of these megaphones that fit onto a car roof?
