Getting behind the players

Gate Watcher

Recommended Posts

Surely everyone (100%) of registered fans on this forum are behind the players and club.

After all it is only thier passion for the club that generates comments which can be seen non supporive when the opposite is the fact.

The ones that are not behind the players are the 600 odd who have not returned since the first match back at Hartsdown.

I watch at nearly all home matches and did so whilst at Dover and Ashford too and I am behind the players, but I reserve the right to critisise some of them if they do not come up to scratch in my opinion.

My entrance fee is helping to pay them and I expect value for money.

Losing is not always the problem.

If they try hard fair enough, but sometimes I dont think some of them do their best.

They are the ones that need sorting out.

Dave.

I am all for constructive criticism but to say, as some have said, that the players dont care for the club I can only see that as not supporting the club & the players

I pay my gate money and I expect to see the players giving all they have. As far as I'm concerned the players we have now are doing that. That wasnt the case earlier in the season and I was critical but NOW they are all pulling their weight I firmly believe and CK has shipped out the ones who werent. Agree with Taffy on this.

It seems to me Alan that its just an opinion.Am sure comments similar to these do not in any way infer the person is not going to support a player or players in the next game. These are comments/assessments made AFTER the game. The next game is another story yet to be unfolded surely. I really cant see why there is a problem here.I really do think people are making more out of these comments than is nessassary.

how many did we get the 1st game back at hartsdown attendance wise?

I think all it is nowadays is glory supporting around here. I guarentee because ramsgate are doing well they proberbly get a bigger crowd than us on some occasions. When if you look at when we were in confrence we were getting good 800-1000 attendances. Margate till i die

Our first game back was well covered in the press. The carnival highlighted it also.Various outlets were informing the people of our return.I was well hyped up,our long awaited return. The club need to promote the games more, advertise it better. They above all should be doing more.Had it not been for us supporters doing little things to get the crowds back I doubt the crowds we are getting now would be as high as they are.The club need to do much more. It is after all in their interests to do so.All we have now are a few posters(some I am sure are NOT being displayed & are being wasted). Its all about advertising & trying to tempt people back again, and a little more hard work on the part of those that do go.Obviously results are a major factor to getting folk to come back too.

"Tony",Once again i think its a catch 22 situation with finances against crowd size. Though i think we should try and get back to the 1,000+ numbers, i believe like the club we need to be putting our efforts more into the next season. I think we need to organise a meeting of like minded fans to discuss strategy and to plan what events we are going to be at. I spoke to the guys on the Misa committee Thursday night, if we can arrange a date Tam will open the club for us. I am having problems receiving E-mails at the moment, so let me know your views on site.
