ok, i actually did some research on my own for a change.

 

closest stations are canning town on the jubilee line or plaistow on the district line.

 

now. does anybody have any idea which of these stations are most likely to have a taxi rank outside? (i know i got 2 buses at the weekend, but it was horrid).

Circle/District Line connects with Docklands Light Railway @ Tower Gateway. DLR line to Beckton - get off at 'Prince Regent'. Bus Station next door/cab/walk up A112 under A13 to ground.

i'll probably go jubilee line to canning town, if there's no cabs there, dlr to prince regent, then walk. i'm sure everyone is fascinated by this and pleased i decided to share.

Long walk from Plaistow Tree. Your best bet is Prince regent. Still a far old trot from there though....

It's only just over a mile from Plaistow... and I'm sure that it's one of the most pleasant miles in London!!

 

I for one shall feel completely at ease strolling from Plaistow station as the stout, honest working class fellows of the East End will immediately recognise a gentleman when they see one and will doubtless doff their caps in deference.
