Today was a bleak day BUT.

 

Those who said they were a poor side are wrong. i thought they were one of the best attacking sides i have seen. far better than Braintree going forward. They kept the ball on the floor against the wind and knew what to do with it. Lets face it 2-0 down and against the wind thats not bad.

 

poor standnen was punnished when he made mistakes yet he did stirling work at times.

 

our two goals were excellent indedd we looked very good coming forward.

 

The hard core of fans were magnificent once more even to the end.

 

The game itself was good end end to end stuff in very diff. conditions.

 

WE need some honest defenders of course but at least we look like scoring when we go forward.

 

With more league reorganisation keep out the bottom thre will be enough. All this fourth plced team lark will probably go by the wayside.

Agree geoff,but not about the defence,the midfield is the weakest link.

we do need someone else in midield aswell as PG ,but getting Pat back would be a start.

I to was asking where hasim was but nobody knew. Have to disagree MM I dont really rate Pat and when he has played on the odd occasion have not really noticed him. Midfield in general is the weak link with only 3 in the middle! We need 4-4-2!

Hasim is injured and will be out for a bit longer.

MM I agree that Pat and Hasim are massive for us and we are not the same without them. But Bertie is our most valuable player. We would have no link up if it wasn't for him. However, one player doesn't make a team.

Bertie is a fantastic player, but I would have thought he would be more effective as a play-maker rather than an out and out striker. Perhaps he needs to be more in midfield?

I think bertie would be better sitting just behind 2 forwards instead of being one. He is a very good play maker.

Interesting one this and lucky to have a versatile and talented player. I would love to see 4-5-1 with Brayley as an attacking left winger and Sesay on the other flank with Hockton up top. Gradley, Yiga and Keister central.

Bertie is uttrley and completley wasted up front. His body language tells you he does not enjoy it there and his talent should also highlight this.

 

If he was to be played just behind Danny + 1 other he could create more chances and allow the front 2 to score more.

 

IMO it is a wasted luxury having the spare player at the back when they (Bertie) would be better employed behind the front 2.

 

The sooner the system is changed away from 5-3-2 the better.

Have to disagree gradley really does make the team tick when he is presant, you only have to look at our record with him playing.

 

He breaks up alot of the opostions possesion and his distribution can be quite impresive, he doesnt always stand out in the game as the players around him flourish more when he is there.

When we have Pat in the team we have a proper middle man. Without him the ball travels from one end to the other far too quickly. We are a much more stable side with Pat and it makes a difference. The balance seems to be there.

I honestly couldnt see what all the hype about him was before.He was just another run of the mill player i.m.o but when he came back from injury he impressed me so I was dissappointed that he didnt follow through with similar performances.I am however looking forward to him coming back if just to see if his form that day was a one-off. What I did notice was that he had put on a few pounds but with more training and work-outs I am sure he will get fitter & lose those few pounds in time.

I am still not convinced as some of you are but I await his return as much as others to see if he can turn the tide.

Gradley is not the best of players but he can tackle and he can pass the ball which is what a midfeilders job is. He is always calm under pressure and he organises our midfeild. That is why we miss him because no one is controling our midfeild.

Maybe! I still need to be convinced though. We shall see in time. Thats if we see him at all that is.
