Coldplay are basically MOR tosh - Chris DeBurgh could churn that out, theres nothing alternative about them at all. Lead singer of coldplay doesn't drink, Mikey from the streets talks about drinking in nearly every song.

 

Streets will be the soundtrack of your generation chubbhead (listen to the lyrics). Coldplay will be the Deacon Blue of your generation

Maybe with a bit of luck he'll get me both. I've also asked for The Libertines album from my mate Chris, the Buzzcocks album with the song 'Boredom' on it from another mate so I'm doing pretty well for CDs this year.

I did when I was about 15, same age as the Coldplay fans who think they are "alternative" and like Coldplay you'll realsie in a few years they ain't great.

EFM I agree about the lyrics, especially the 'Stay Positive' track.At the moment I'm leaning on the side of The Streets. I could always get my dad to get me Coldplay though! What's everyone else getting for Christmas?

I've never claimed that Oasis are "cutting edge". I do maintain that they are still making music that is as good as anyone else. They'll just never reach the heights of "Def Maybe" and "Morning Glory" again, so they get knocked.

 

It's very cool to knock Oasis, Thornsy. Have your own mind for once.

nivarna..or however u spell it... this band completly passed me by..fk knows how, as apprently they were huge.. but tho i recognised the tunes of their most famous tracks i was totally in the dark about them... well on the recent ski tour someone bought the 'best of' along.. fk me what a load of pony!! the tunes themselves were ok if your a 15 year old septic who likes jumping up n down every 30 seconds..but the lyrics where laughable ice cream round your grandmas or something fk me was kurt whatever his name was 4 yrs old when he wrote them or am i seriuosly missing the point.. a lot of the guys on the tour were raving about it but i felt it was a serious case of the 'emperor has no clothes on' !!

i was older than you though, i got into all them at 16

 

As for Oasis, I thought they were rubbish when be here now came out, so everyone's actually jumping on my bandwagon.

 

I don't do things to be cool (like knocking Oasis) i form my own opinion sometimes with the maaaan, sometimes against!
