Quiz For Potential Stockport County Stewards

1. How many fans can you see standing up?

2. How many stewards can you see telling them to sit down?

 

1. Er...no Stockport fans. I think that one in the Burberry cap over there in the St. Albans end may be standing up. I'll call for assistance.

 

2. None of the stewards in the Stockport end need to tell anyone to sit down, obviously. In the City end I can see some large ugly blonde woman in a steward's jacket having a go at someone. I'll call for back-up for the assistance.

1) none cos I am watching the game cos thats what stewards do innit?

 

2) none at the home end cos anyone who can stand has been ejected. them you can see are infiltrating southern scum causing trouble. You wont see me in pic.C cos I am off for a fag.

Several County fans in the same stand as you were warned as well and one was recently ejected and had his season ticket cancelled. I was just a few rows in front of the view you've shown; we stood for the penalty and at various times without getting any verbals from stewards; on another day I'd get thrown out. Bizzare.

 

BTW were the one's thrown out wearing Burbery caps? If so, then at most league clubs you'd be be kept under very, very close watch both in town and at the ground. Allegedly, of course.

Can I suggest a course of action? Please put (or copy) your complaints about stewarding to your club as well as to SCFC. If your club were to talk to County on a Chairman - to Chairman basis it'd probably achieve more than any of us can individually.

 

It's dissappointing that a good day out had this one un-necessary cloud over it; hopefully it can be dealt with (as well as one can in retrospect).

Away fans are predominantly housed on one side of the Vernon Stand, where the normal allocation is 800 seats. This stand is covered, however, there are a number of supporting pillars in the Vernon stand which may impede your view. If this happens to you, then the stewards do allow you to stand at the back of the stand to get a better view.

Will we be starting a new "no standing" policy in our own stand? I wonder if Chad and co are considering hardline tactics for removing pensioners that don't tow the line.

thats interesting when i complained to what looked like a more senior Steward he said... I know but what can you do...

 

then when someone I was standing next to at the back, cheers BTW for finding my camera, was constantly being berated by Plod for standing, I intervened to see what difference does it make, was told...what the Fcuks it to do with you.....

 

I managed to stand at the back in the gangway next to the so called "iron curtain" (well some sort of plastic mesh) for about 20 mins next to another steward with no comeback
