Trust News letter no 2

Thanks firstly to Martin Mc Cabe , who has passed onto me the 2nd issue of the Slough Town Suporters Trust newsletter, which I hope will be ready for our members on Saturday at Maldon, subject to printing ! Thanks to Tony Shambrooke for the printing....

Please remember to see chris on Saturday with your membership card to obtain a copy....

The important mesage which we as the supporters trust will highlight in the next addition : is to put up independant candidates for certain areas of Slough in the forth coming elections, the reason is to show that we are still here and not to be forgotten in our fight to find a new home for Slough Town FC....

The areas we have covered to put a candidate up is :

Wexham Court /Upton Lea

Langley St Marys

We need to feild candidates in the following areas :

Haymill

Foxborough

and Britwell

All this will involve is just to have your name on the ballot paper at Election time ! We have all the paper work from Slough Council - to get this done...so if you are in one of the last three areas and really want to make a difference please contact Chris Sliski ASAP.....

Norminations need to be at the Town Hall by April 9th .... The paper work is easy and help will be given to ensure the paper work is completed correctly...you will need to be proposed and have 8 registered electoral people from your area...to confirm your proposal on the form that is all...

We really need this to be done..and anyone putting themselves forward will be doing the club some great benifit....

WE NEED YOU !!!

cheers Chris sliski

secretary Slough Town Supporters Trust.

Please please this could really help us !!!!

I stood for election about five times for the local council and it really doesn't have to mean any work.

All you need is to be on the electoral role, and get ten other people in your ward to fill in a form for you to stand. Maybe a photo to go in the local papers. And that's it.

But i reckon its really important that people do put themselves forward as it will highlight the plight of the club.

Exactly. Be bloody amazed if anyone did get elected.

We worked our socks off in half of one ward for quite a few years and always got between 12-16%.

Mind you, Brentford now have a councillor, which has recently helped get them loans from the council to set up a Trust.

Charlton fans did the same voting tactics to eventually force the council to let them back to the Valley. They didn't get anyone elected, but lost a couple of top labour people their seats by splitting the vote.
