There was mention on here a few weeks ago of the Club looking for a "Local Bar" to take over and run as the Town Bar. This would give the Club some cash ( assuming it made a profit ).

Perhaps these things should be looked into in more depth, but these things all take time and money to start up.

 

As for a new ground I believe this will take many years as there is unlikely to be much assistance from those outside, ie - The Council, who showed their true colours with the Southbury Road farse.

There are not sites laying around the borough waiting for us to come along.

We would be better off trying to talk / negotiate with Brimsdown Rovers Committee and take over the Lease with them as OUR tenant.

Then we could invest small amounts of money into OUR ground.

The difference between the Southbury Road days and today is that then, we had a labour council that had no interest in EFC. Now, we have a tory council that has some sympathies with us and are certainly more happy to talk. Clearly they have a tough job in managing the borough's finances and woudl struggle to justify giving us some land but I know they are more receptive to our board.

Even if they did, new grounds cost plenty of dosh and everyone on here keeps confirming how we do not have the money for anything !

 

I still maintain that Brimo is a good base with plenty of opportunities for expansion etc and would be a good start.

Wise words softie. Most of us have been kicked about in our lives but you get over it.

 

Also wise words Brunob. If people have confidential information which is of benefit to the club they should keep it confidential. But if they have confidential information which is to the detriment of the club they should spread the word so that actions can be taken to mitigate the detriment.
