Nice one lads, well one of mine at HX that is, has to be the FA Vase at Cowes about 6 years ago.

Game called off week before, early December, due to rain.

We came to the day of the match and got the all clear at 7.50am and with a coach full of players, officials and supporters we set off.

Stopped for breakie on the A3 at the Hogsback, notice I said Back and not Head!

The ferry at Soton at 12 o'clock left and it was pouring but no sign of a postponement. We arrived at sunny East Cowes approx. 12.50, yes the bar was open on the boat. But we had to go to East Cowes so instead of using the bridge, which is foot only, we took a 10 mile detour through Newport!

A nice welcome at the club and a very well looked after pitch produced a great match which we ran out victors by 1 0. The goal was a free kick by Nicky Lowery, glanced in by our St. lucian international Walt Rigobert.

It was a great journey home as you can imagine, the pub by the ferry didn't know what hit them!

And for those that do know the real big story of this trip, don't worry it's still safe!

<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/Rofl.gif" alt="" /> I actually cried with laughter that day <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

For me, yesterday. Before yesterday a few that spring to mind are:

Going 1-0 against Boston
Arsley
Steve West's breakleg tackle vs. Kingstonian (I think???) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Tranmere- VJ's headed goal that was never to be
Caskey's goal vs. 'Fleet

And many more... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" />

Thanks to all at AFC, a great club. By far and away the best day in my short time as an Urchin, best before that was the Tranmere match, where we was very unlucky not to get at least a replay. I remember getting to the Bridge House waiting for it to open on the morning of the match, but the pub didn't open till 12-00, fools, A couple of hundred fans all waiting outside the pub drinking cans from the Off Licence, DOH!

I think yesterday even matched FA Cup Finals of 75 and 80 and play off final in Cardiff last year. I cant wait for the Final at Burnham at Easter. Come on you Urchins!!!

a good omen for england would be the best players in the world from other countries all breaking their legs(not henry of course!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />)

Surely the best day has to be yesterday - about a year ago, everyone was laughing at the Urchins and jumping up and down with glee at their anticipated demise. Yesterday the Urchins gave the best possible answer to their critics.

They are not laughing now,and are conspicuous by their absence.

Good to see Hornchurch go up yesterday, I've been following from afar and good to see them get the success they deserve, great club, fans and dedicated staff.

I remember the Cowes day Maxinhio (not sure about the story). Berkhamested 1-1 was also one of the best games out there...
