Anyone remember the celebrations when we acore in the 96th minute at basingstoke to win 2-1 in our title winning year? All 11 players joined the celebrations with most of them almost ending up in the terraces with us. The referee also ended up in amongst the celebrations as well.

Yeah, talk about get out of jail! Greggors got the goal if I remember rightly. I'll always remember some old bloke outside the bar going mental that we won! He got a fair bit of stick that day! Always liked Basingstoke, the bookies in the car park and McDonalds across the road was a right touch!

It was nice for me to go on an away day and actually see us win. My heart was beating ten a second after we scored, hoping that they wouldn't score, willing them not to. Jesus, it was tense.

I thought we played well throughout, but when Boylan came on we were something else. His first touch showed how much we've missed him and his goal showed how much we need him.

For the first time I realised Mario's boots seemed to have magic dust in them (I knew he was good, but not silky like that) and Clarke actually impressed me... other than when he almost wipped me out with that ridiculous attempt at a cross. Maybe he's not so bad after all.

 

What time did you lot on the coach get back? I made it in my front door at five past midnight, which I thought was bloody good. Had delays between Milton Keynes and Bletchley on the train and then got accosted by a Chelsea fan at Euston who spotted the scarf.

 

Also, that's the last time I get on the Manc Metro - a groupd of about 10 14 year olds got on at Stretford and started a bloody riot, trying to rip the panels off the walls and jumping around all over the shop. When they got off they tried pulling some bloke off with them, but the best they could manage was throwing a couple of punches and covering him and some other bloke in red paint. Delightful.

Crossed Canvey way at 9.33 exactly (as well Gary Dover knows!!!) Down the Oysterfleet afterwards for a couple of drinks, and I'm well informed that some people staggered out of Thorney Bay Bar at 1.30am!!
