Great to see Lee back playing and doing what he does best and thats scoring goals.

Look forward to reading reports from those who were there. Bet the celebrations must have been something special.

Must be a fantastic confidence boost for Lee, coming back after 3 months and grabbing the winner in extra time. Roy of the Rovers stuff.

Great to have you back Lee.

Terrific result and even if we had not won today, it would have been brilliant just to have had Lee back playing again, the fact that we did, Lee scored and there are another three points in the bag - deep, deep joy indeed!!!

Absolutely bloody brilliant!!! Lee's goal was the best adrenalin rush in the world and what a brilliant goal it was!! Volley at the far post that few players at this level would have scored. Best [****!!****] feeling in the world!!! You had to be there to experience it!!!

I'm off to bed to sober up!!!

yep good match report, brings back memories of some excellent Canvey match reports from days gone by...Just one question though, why did we not take Boylan's shirt with us ? I note he was not listed in the squad for the game, did he just happen to turn up ?! Great result anyway.

A quality day and a fantastic the result!

As soon as Lee came on everything seemed to click. I know the old cliche says one player doesn't make a team, and that is true, however Boylan's presence lifted everyone's game and enabled us to claim victory.

The fact of the matter is that Boylan could easily had a hatrick in his short time on the pitch. His first touch was a half volley from outside the box which missed the far post by inches. He had another shot which was destined for the top corner deflected out of play by their defender, and of course he scored with a brilliant finish far post from a corner.

Danny Potter also played a huge part in the victory and deservedly got Man of The Match. Not only for making 2 or 3 vital saves, but his handling from crossed balls and distribution were top notch.

The celebrations were excellent, a few sore heads this morning I reckon. I must give credit to Altrincham Council - great idea to put an off licence outside the ground!!

Altrincham as a club were very hospitable and friendly. Not one of the best stadiums and quite old fashioned, but one that has a lot of potential if they needed to expand.

All in all, the day was all about last minute goals! Gallas against Spurs seemed like it would ruin my day ("West Ham fans" singing Chelsea songs - disgrace!), but Lee's strike made it all better and then some!

it was a great day just like the old days, i cannot think of the last time that we scored in the last min to win a game?? about time we got the late winner for a change well done lads!!!

Try tue 16th aug 2005 v Aldershot ok not quite the same thing as we played at least another 5 mins after Boylan scored.

We also picked up draws last season with McGhee and Noto both scoring in the 90th min, McGhee`s being very important.
