Last night Luke Moore got MOTM, now im not sayin he didnt desearve it but surely Jimmy should of ogt it? no?

I agree that Jimmy was MOTM, but for four hundred people to ridicule the actual decision when Luke Moore was on the pitch was awful. He's only 18, the youngest member of the squad, and probably has had worries of his own with his lack of goals. The last thing he needs is 2/3rds of the home fans basically telling him he was sh*t!! I'll be surprised if he walks out next home match with his head held high, knowing what the majority of fans thought of him last week.

Just catching up with lost of posts so apologies if I haven't viewed or responded in the correct order.

 

Agree with K Shep. I don't think Luke had one of his better games and maybe Jimmy should have been voted MOTM, but there's nothing he could have done about it ! To hear the derision from the side stand must have made him feel like sh*t !!...and the reaction p*ssed me off too !

 

 

Luke is a good prospect.....one we should show faith with ( and if Charlton or West Ham want him when he is 19 or 20 & pay 400k+ then good luck to him).

 

Don't jeer the lad for something he had no control over !!

No one jeered, they were just singing "theres only 1 Jimmy Jackson" but still i think Luke must have felt quite frankly like sh*t!

I heard jeering, maybe not directed at Luke but probably the decision, but I still feel it was unwaranted !!

To be honest i had started to walk to the exit when it was annouced. I think personly that it was a knee jerk reaction from what i heard as i down in the corner flag area in the open, Maybe the crowd were not so much popping at luke but just taken by surprise that it was not jimmy ?

Na i dont think they were having a go at Luke because its something that he could not control but like you said just suprised it werent jimmy

I do sometime wonder if the MOM pickers spend the whole game in the bar under the main stand and pick someone at random!!! The jeering may have been that they found someone to pick as MOM!! Jimmy did stand out, and Moore does tend to dash about alot. Trouble with a man of the match announcement at the end of a crap game is that people will sarcastically moan, because if most of your players have been rubbish for 90mins, making an announcement about which of them played the best is akin to showing a cartoon of the prophet to a mosque full of people... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Sadly I heard some booing and jeering aimed at Luke from where I was standing. If these people want to moan do so towards the person(s) who selected him for m o t m. It wasn't Luke's decision. He probably realised that yet again the weight of expectation upon his shoulders to score had just become a little bit more of a burden. Lay off him. Give him encouragement. There is no better way to make him achieve a first Conference goal.
