The weather forcast for Saturday is Dry and the pitch stood up very well last night so there should be no problems for Saturday.

We do have some dodgy people in margate. I apologise for the Chavs that have given what was once a great town a bad name. Stay well away from Millmead unless you want to be drugged and beaten up. There are plenty of nice pubs along the seafront and a lot of arcades. There is also a load of fish and chip shops aswell. If you want to a proper meal though then may i suggest the oriental buffet which is above Dreamland cinema. Basically it is an all you can eat with food from different countries around the world.

Would agree with Alex. Best pub is Lesters which is probably best found by taxi from the station. Only 5 minutes in the car but a 20 minute walk from the station as it is on the other side of Margate. Their food is very good if you fancy a meal before the match too. They will definitely be showing the football on telly. When you are ready to head for the ground it is a 10 minute walk to HDP. I'm sure the locals will be happy to give you directions.

Alex is right about Millmead but thats nowhere near the town centre, the ground, Lesters or the station so you shouldn't have the misfortune to visit there. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Lesters is a long, long way from the station. The Princess of Wales usually shows matches on Premier Plus. It is five minutes from the ground. (Go across open field next to ground, down to bottom corner, head through alley under railway next to tennis club, go past adventure playground on other side and it is ahead of you).

Lesters is the best pub, no doubt about it. As above I would say if you are travelling by train then get a taxi from outside the station and its only going to cost you 4 quid at the most. From the station which is on the seafront there's the lifeless Wetherspoons just along the seafront, the Princess of Wales which is a 10 minute walk from the station and 5 minutes from the ground, and obviously the clubhouse which is right behind the goal in the Hartsdown Rd end with an excellent view of the pitch. Clubhouse won't be showing the game though. Lesters definitely will and is my recommendation. Lesters is within walking distance of the ground.

From the ground to Lesters by foot: Walk down the hill on Hartsdown Road passing the cricket club pavillion and up the steep hill to the traffic lights. Take the 2nd exit at the junction. Walk under the bridge to the traffic lights and turn right at this junction, keep going for 100m as the road bears left and Lesters is on the left hand side just before the QEQM hospital.
