Security last night - A professional job

I just thought I would like to mention the security details from last night which I thought were outstanding and the club deserve a huge pat on the back for getting things exactly right. More stewards, segregation fence up,mobile cctv unit in place, police attendance at the end of the game, ambulance at hand.I cant fault the club for any of that and it should be noted by other clubs that this is the way it should be done.A very well done to the club on this matter. No trouble at all as far as I could see(though away attendance admittedly was less than expected).

Nevertheless a good advert for security arranging.

Yes agree the security worked last night. However I do have the following questions.

1) What was the actual cost of it and did the attendance pay for the extra costs? I question wether it is economic to welcome AFC back again next season due to these extra costs.

2) All the hype on this forum and elsewhere about trouble produced none. It would be better in future if that kind of talk was stopped. How much did this talk cost at the gate?

3) Was segregation really nescessary?

4) Should there not be some price control on outside catering units ? The one for last night was charging 80p against the normal 50p for a cup of Tea!! I know of people who found this unbelivable and people did vote with thier feet at half time.

Sorry for this negative posting but I think if it is looked at constructivley it will benefit the Club which is the important thing.

I think we would probably make more money from a game against one of the minnows of the league than we did last night. On a Saturday it would be worthwhile. AFCW would have brought 600 minimum rather than the 150-200. And we would have probably got the 1500 figure that we wanted. Last night was well organised but it just didn't pay off with that attendance.

I thought there was a lot of overkill with security last night - with a congregation of orange jackets & police alongside the catering van by the toilet block. Of course had it not rained & if there'd been no footie on the telly there'd have been nearly twice as many fans there.

I guess you can't plan these things retrospectively.

What is the problem with Margate and Sky? A couple of times earlier this season they posted the wrong score and last night it showed 0-1 at first and then they changed it to 0-0. Which is right? And why can't someone there provide Sky with the correct information (although one of the earlier errors was an away match at Bognor admittedly)?

No you're right, it was Worthing not Bognor this season. They showed it as 6-1 to Margate so I knew it was worng.

Any chance of the questions being answered?

What was the score last night (BBC Kent still not showing Tuesday's results, although they got our score against Wimbledon wrong anyway so they are hardly reliable)and why does this keep happening to Margate on Sky?
