What is going on??????

We beat them away and we played well. Then we lose to them at home and play badly. WHAT IS GOING ON???? 7 games unbeaten with wins and draws against good sides and now we lose to two teams which in my eyes we should be beating now. Worst performance at home i have seen since we lost to Leyton. The passing was awful, the commitment what commitment? No passion, not playing as a team and not bothered. Well done to the supporters who went tonight to watch a load of rubbish. I thought AFC were very poor tonight so there was no excuses to why we played badly. Charlie Mitten to be honest has lost and we should be looking for a new keeper in the summer me thinks. Not one player played well today they were all as bad as each other. WHY DIDNT WE MAKE ANY SUBSITUTIONS FOR GOD SAKE!!? By the way i wont be posting my photos as for some funny reason they are all blured.

POSITIVES FROM THE GAME:

There isnt any

Alright calm down Alex.

You obviously weren't at either of the Grays matches last season, or indeed any of the many other games over the years when we older supporters have had to endure far worse displays than this evening's.

We have good players, good support, and good prospects for the future. One 1-0 defeat in appalling conditions doesn't alter that.

But we were awful agains Chelmsford aswell. If i could pick out positives from todays game then i would be a bit happier. I was not at any of the games last season, but all the games i had been to before last season that was one of the worst performances i have seen. We will get promoted next season and we will improve and we have a great team who will finish us 13th this season.

I think 13th is a tad optimistic Alex. I'll settle for 18th as it means we stay up. Need a few more wins to make sure though as Hendon will start picking up. At least we have an easy 3 points on saturday (don,t we?) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Okay, calmed down now after seeing the highlights. For their goal, Edwards was beaten in the air by George who flicked it on and Donovan wasn't sure whether to stick his boot through it or not. Think he thought it was safe and a nothing ball. But Oates was tracking Plummer and beaten for pace while Edwards would have usually been there in the gap but had committed himself further up field for the header. Good finish by Plummer. Was a series of things which led to their bloke getting a yard and producing a good finish. The highlights show our lads putting in a few tasty challenges so we shouldn't come on here and question passion and committment, not after the lads probably had to work all day and then have two hours travelling to get to the ground. I think we will have some players back for Saturday anyway so let's pick ourselves up. Not as negative as I was before after seeing the highlights.

Alex, there was not a great deal of difference between our performance at Wimbledon and last night. We were a shade lucky to win last month, the difference between the sides being two exceptional finishes from Hockton. Wombles did their homework last night and kept him out of the game. They have won at Fisher and drawn at Braintree, so clearly they are a useful side on the road.

Alex, who would you have put on who was any better than any one on the field. Perhaps OS but i wouldn't have liked to have risked him on a night like last night. First half i stood down the side, second half i started in the stand but reverted to the side. In the stand i didn't get a proper perspective of the wind etc. The pace the ball was coming of the ground was nearly unbelievable. At the end of the day the game went with wind direction and the extra pace of new legs paid of. As CK says we are missing a couple of quality midfielders and i think it won't be long.

Very poor game last night. I didn't think that either team deserved to win, to be honest. Both teams were poor IMO. But, I'm not too disheartened, we'll pick up 3 points on Saturday and there's no chance of relegation this season. Onwards and upwards!

I have go to have a rant.

Last night the football was poor to bad

CK is meant to be building a better team, but that performance shows the opposite

Yiga has gone

I'm really fed up with it.

Any positives to do with MFC aren't even about the football. I thought the set up last night was very professional, and really well run, but for what? The set up shows what can be achieved but what about the football? THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

I agree that I have seen better this season and was disappointed with the result.

But that statement shows how far we have come. When we went to AFCW we would have been happy to get a point, and now we're expecting, as we should be, that we can win.

On the match, how much of a part the weather played I'm not sure and need to get consistent passing back. Despite having chances we didn't clcik last night and as we were improving AFC scored and we lost the growing momentum.

I feel we have lost our form a bit this week but a win this weekend can put that back on track. Again lets be POSITIVE, we drew against the league leaders, beat Wealdstone 4-0 and have a semi-final coming up against Gravesend.

So basically, it's not all bad!
