Yesterday showed again how much we miss Veli. Metcalfe & Spencer together are pretty solid and hard working but neither of them offer the same creativity as Veli.

 

Now, apart from using Gilkes in the middle to add that little bit extra, who else could we use ???

 

I think that unless we find a solution pretty quick, then other teams like Harrogate Railway will beat us in the middle of the park

It strikes me that B Bubb may be good as Hakki's replacement, but we really need him on the wing...

Couldnt agree more. We need two new players to push for promotion, a striker, preferrably 6 - 4 and able to win the ball in the air, but if not just one that will take some of the pressure off Sammy and Tony, (To be fair thought Andy Deaner did as well as could be expected yesterday with no first team sharpness, he actually looks a bit fitter this season when he plays)

 

We also need another experienced head in midfield. A playmaker or target for the defence. We have been much better this season in clearing our lines to our own players, but with Veli gone the outlet is reduced. Gilkes is experienced, and can organise the team, but is not a central midfielder.

 

Just a thought. Although we are all disapointed to lose yesterday who would have put money on us being in the first round at the beginning of the season, yet alone talking about promotion. Thnk god this is football and theres always another Saturday
