Given the scarcity of decent crosses from the right wing of late, perhaps there is a case for playing Provs in a right wing back role, as he did both at Canvey and when he first joined.

As I've said before, I'm not convinced that Conference-level players have the Ashley Cole-like ability to play as full-back and winger simultaneously. Anyway, as Watkins proved against Crawley, a full-back can still get forward and put decent crosses into the box.

The PC brigade will no doubt scoff at the idea, because it is SO radical, but why don't we try 3-5-2 for a couple of games.

What on earth has favouring 4-4-2 got to do with being 'politically correct'? Was this post generated by American Fleet Fan?

But why not try this line up:
Holloway
Gooding R Smith Watkins
Protheroe Drury McKimm Saunder( if fit) Jackson
MacDonald (if fit) Rawle

Aside from my aforementioned disdain for 3-5-2/5-3-2 at non-league level, I don't think dropping Bowry's going to help matters. Things are clearly going wrong at present, but changing too many things (like Liam did with his bizarre decision to play Jukebox alongside Moore up front against Crawley) could be just as harmful as changing too little. Our problems at the moment are more down to our lack of strength in depth, for instance, than the incorrect formation.

Er, surely most of those players are 'fighting for places' already under the current system?

As pointed out by Stu M recently, the only part-timer who is being overtly 'eased out' is Proths (Skins' absence is more debatable).

Apart from that, a good post. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
