I think you're missing a Corby fixture, they have a home match with Boreham Wood to fit in mid-week sometime and I dont think Wivenhoe can really get into the shake up.

Our outstanding fixtures would have been a better idea so as to compare them.

It's all still in our hands though.

Bigger attendances will mean bigger gate receipts and more sponsorship, thus we will be able to afford the better players. What is the worse thing that can happen if we do go up? We can get relegated but will have gained some experience at the higher level to learn for the future. Anyway, we have more than held our own with good sides from higher levels so why shouldn't we be able to hold our own in a higher league. The only concren will be the rasing of the funds to get the ground to the required standard but I know that this is already being dealt with.

COME ON YOU TOWN!!!

Some of the attendances are bigger than ours at the next level, but plenty are lower.Cheshunts highest crowd this season is 167.Don't forget that bigger away crowds could add an average of 50 to 150 to each home gate.Support will not be a problem at the next level.

Most of the teams in the premier will have a financial backer AND bar receits to fall back on.That will be tough to compete with, but i'm cofident of at least consolidating in out first year in the premier IF we can achieve promotion.

A few weeks ago we were looking at ways of raising funds.

Well, whilst we all moaned at the cost of going to The Wood, I have not seen any moans about Dartford's £7 entry.

If we did that - we are looking at average £300 per game extra x 21 league games ( that's £6,300 ) plus cup games etc.

Whilst it may have been an "outside contractor" the coffee was £1.00p and crap, compared to our 50p and good at Brimo.

Food for thought ? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

Chicken and egg analogy - the better the players, the more they get paid. The more money needed to be raised by extra sponsorships. Therefore more people need to assit the club with finding these new sponsors.

i think you will get second to go up with the wood but will the ground improvements that the paper said needed doing be done in time

My understanding is that improvements will not have to be in place until 2007.Ie ..teams can go up before improvements are carried out.

There are loads of other ways of raising funds rather than just putting up admission prices. (Which is the worst way in my opinion)

Sponsors should be attracted by Town's large and loyal support.

But perhaps more people need to ask people they know to sponsor matches, boards etc.

And fans could do more to raise funds themselves.

The great thing for Enfield Town is they do have lots of supporters. If more of these fans help in raising money then the club will develop much quicker.

Even something like a sponsored run for the Town could raise thousands,if enough people are asked..

Fourth place? I thought only the top two go up automatically?

What ground improvements do we need? I thought we had gone for a B grade instaed of a C, in old money, to allow us at least two promotions, or have they moved the goalposts yet again?

I do wonder if non-league football should make a strong representation to the FA on the lines of look guys, you're here to serve us, not the other way round, so work for us not against us. What is the point of lovely stadia with capacities ten or more times the average gate for a club or league?

Cheers Softie. I must admit I thought we had enough stands, but there you go, just shows how wrong you can be. Do new stands need planning permission or was the original consent for more than we have now (if you see what I mean)?

This is being clarified with the Council.
