...with some of the new draconian measures that seem to be hitting this forum.

I am not going to waffle on with a diatribe about freedom of speech, etc, etc, but this sudden purge on off-topic subjects is getting a bit tiresome.

Simple answer really, just create a sub forum called: off topic drivel or something along those lines...ergo anyone can post what they like and the ESL sites don't get cluttered up and if you want to contribute or ignore, then the choice is yours.

I rest my case.

i am in agreement with coup,i think that there should be a general forum on the esl,like what we have for hornchurch,then if anything is posted un football related it can be moved to general!!

but, as unc said over the weekend, if we get promoted, then the ESL may go back to 3 posts a day. having an 'overspill' forum would seem like a bit of a waste of time then.

history indicates that they don't esu....enfield were all over the esl forums last year and hardly ever come on here now...the banter is 'at the time'....it is normal to want to interact banter with the oppo...

 

I can see Ians point of view to be honest and I see no point in an overspill forum when we already have one for us (which every fcker can use) and we also have things like the pub etc...

 

In any event Ian is back tomorrow so no doubt his views will be posted by himself...

 

don't agree with you coup.....freedom of speech is one thing and is not being interferred with at all...(let us not forget either the moderators 'freedom' in having to deal with the crap)...

 

the issues at hand are twofold...if anyone wants to post unrelated topics then they can go to to anyone of numerous dedicted forums...

 

regardless of which forum is being used...'freedom of speech' doesn't run to posters running riot and spamming forums just because they disagree with a policy laid down by the forums owners...

 

if they want that sort of freedom then they can start (and pay for) their own forums...

 

yesterdays antics were not acceptable in my book and I have no sympathy with any of them....

 

quite frankly (and regrettably) I shall not be to sorry to see the back of some should we get promoted and move onwards to another league forum...I have my own views on what is happening with certain romford posters (who it should be recalled actually forced the closure of their own clubs official forum due to slanderous content)and they are not healthy views..

 

I shall in future refrain from getting involved in any of the loon type zody threads/posts...I wish to enjoy the current success we are having instead of having to fight off paranoid and resentful anti hx posts everyday...as far as I am concerned any fcker that makes a nuisance of themselves from now onwards can get banned and I shall care not a hoot....all PM's for help will be instantly deleted...

I've been having a quick catch up with some of this week's posts on this forum, and while seeing the logic in a lot of what you write, I must say I was thinking on the same lines of Coup even before I read his original post.

 

Anyway, I will be voting with my feet and sticking to our own forum in the future. Can't imagine I will miss it too much and I doubt if anybody will miss me.
